Monatik and so on....
That's not correct.... Of course you can say like it's not based on origin of them and so on...
So I'd like to response on that:
In this case we can say that if let;s say Germans will sing french songs we will call those Germans as french people?!
So some of you are right when you are saying that it's not based on origin. SO WHY THAN YOU DO NOT SAY that that is UKRAINIAN Music. Because all of that songs become famous FIRST in UKRAINE, they were created in Ukraine. They grow up actually there not in Russia or what ever else....
Or if you want to say like they more popular in Russia DON"T forget that Ukraine's population is 3 times lower than Russian so there is no surprises, but it's not a point as well.
More shoter - It's Ukrainian Music but in russian language, because we DO NOT call english songs of russian or ukrainian singers as English or American music.... Ukrainian production - Ukrainian music.... Sorry anyone...
Does anybody call ukrainian artists (I mean their nationality) as a russian if they sing songs in russian language? It's a bit ridiculous comparison. I call Ani Lorak's contemporary pop music as a russian, cuz now she's a russian artist, she lives in Russia, do her music activity in Russia for a long time, all her new songs I constantly hear from russian radio stations, russian tv etc, but I'd never call Ani Lorak as a russian by nationality, she's ukrainian, but lives in Russia, do her music in Russia, honored rewards in different russian music awards, the same situation about Via Gra, Elka, Loboda, though the last one as far as I know works for 2 fronts, hold the concerts in Ukraine and gets the awards as a russian best performer
I'd never call Jamala, Tina Karol, Ocean Elzi's songs in russian language as a russian cuz for me they're ukrainian artists, they develop their music creation in Ukraine, but not in Russia, that is the difference. Taking for instance Natalia Podolskaya who was born in Mogilev, Belarus. She's a russian artist, cuz she lives there since 2002s, she creates her music in Russia, and I'd never say she's a belarussian artist and her music is belarussian or for instance Philipp Kirkorov, he's bulgarian and what it means that we should call the songs of the king of a russian pop music as a bulgarian?! Ridiculous
I posted here some Tina Karol's songs cuz we don't have Best ukrainian music thread here. But if it really touches the strings of your soul, posting ukrainian songs in russian thread then you can create Best ukrainian music thread and I will post there ukrainian music with a great pleasure)
