Mary J. Blige is more of a singles act for me, but she does have some incredible classics to her name!

Diana Ross is a legend, and my mother's favourite person in music, so she was a huge component of my childhood. Definitely love her solo work - "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" is one of my favourite songs ever - but it's her work as the Supremes lead singer that will really stand the test of time.

Leona Lewis had such a brilliant debut era, then everything went downhill, and she's never quite recovered, from a quality, as well as a commercial, perspective. For Spirit alone, though, I think she'll probably stay in my Top 50 for at least one more countdown.

My Votes wrote:[45 POINTS] - Carrie Underwood [#47]
[39 POINTS] - Jordin Sparks [#93]
[38 POINTS] - Nicki Minaj [#44]
[33 POINTS] - Miley Cyrus [#77]
[29 POINTS] - Lindsey Stirling [#211]
[24 POINTS] - Lorde [#98]
[23 POINTS] - Lily Allen [#71]
[22 POINTS] - Anastacia [#46]
[17 POINTS] - Conchita Wurst [#310]
[16 POINTS] - Carly Rae Jepsen [#72]
[12 POINTS] - Demi Lovato [#83]
[11 POINTS] - Idina Menzel [#318]
[10 POINTS] - Leona Lewis [#39]
[06 POINTS] - Diana Ross [#40]
[04 POINTS] - Tracy Chapman [#76]
[01 POINT] - Ciara [#52]

I'm glad Leona managed to stay top 40. Deserving. It's a shame not many people have glassheart a true chance. :)

Leona has one of the best voices in the entire world, I feel she totally deserves a place on this countdown. Her cover of Hurt is one of the best vocal performances I've ever heard. It's such a shame how badly managed almost her whole career has been.

I'm just shocked she's so high since I never see anyone post about her, as opposed to so many of the top 50-60 who seem to get more respect here.

I'm really surprised how slight her career has turned out, I remember when Bleeding Love was such a massive smash and people acted like they've just heard the new Mariah. And then it turned out she just peaked there as opposed to this long illustrious career some expected.

Her music is really annoying although I don't think she's had a hit since Girlfriend anyway

^ Avril Lavigne was brilliant with her debut album IMO. The entire "Let go" album is superb, and fresh, she rejuvenated the pop scene back in 2002. Unfortunately she struggled to evolve and became worse and worse with each album until becoming this bratty type of act. I lost interest in her after her 3rd album (which I didn't like as much as her first two albums anyway).

Avril gets some hate here but she is really good, I think she sounds good live and she has plenty of good songs!

Alice as a key song....that is one of her worst, it's horrible.

I enjoyed this from her last album:

Should have thrown some points her way.

Yeah, her debut era was huge and felt so different to Britney and Christina. Unfortunately, she never grew up *pun intended*

Avril has many great songs, I did not like her fourth album though, it was boring

I love Avril Lavigne and for me she'll always be one of the revolutionaries of the 2000s. However unfortunately her last attempts haven't been as good as her first two albums. I hope we see a return to form on this new album

Her debut era was everything, that album alone gained 8 Grammy nominations and she was so fresh.

I highly recommend her first album to everyone, songs such as "Naked", "Things I'll never say", "Nobody's fool", "Anything but ordinary", "Too much to ask" .... brilliant debut.

Avril is much like P!nk and Kelly Clarkson in that she can deliver a killer ballad, like "When You're Gone, and with equal level of skill serve up a bop like "What the Hell". I feel like it's been ages since her last album, though.
