Then Ed Sheeran it is, the cobra lol j/k

I wonder if the grammys are stupid enough to award aoty to one of her childish albums ever again, we shall see.

Apart from Adele, she's the only woman who can actually win Album of the Year, is there any other who can?

My predictions:

ALBUM OF THE YEAR

1- Damn. - Kendrick Lamar (winner)
2- Divide - Ed Sheeran
3- 24k Magic - Bruno Mars
4- Some country album
5- Some alternative/rock album (maybe Metallica or Father John Misty)

RECORD OF THE YEAR

1- Humble - Kendrick Lamar
2- Shape of You - Ed Sheeran (winner)
3- Look What You Made Me Do - Taylor Swift
4- That's What I Like - Bruno Mars
5- Despacito

Other strong contenders:
the new Sam Smith song
I Feel It Coming - The Weeknd
Wild Thoughts - Dj Khaled and Rihanna

SONG OF THE YEAR

1-Humble - Kendrick Lamar (winner)
2- Shape of You/Castle on the Hill - Ed Sheeran
3- The new Sam Smith song
4- Praying - Kesha
5- That's What I Like - Bruno Mars

Possible contenders:

Julia Michaels - Issues
Childish Gambino - Redbone
Sam Hunt
Taylor Swift - Look What You Made Me Do
James Arthur- Say You Won’t Let Go
Lady Gaga - Million Reasons

SOME OBSERVATIONS

1- Kendrick will sweep the Rap Field. No one stands a chance.
2- Best Pop Vocal Album is going to Ed. As for Best Pop Solo Performance, Sam Smith can upset.
3- Best Music Video is going to Kendrick.
4- The Weeknd will win Best Urban Contemporany Album.

The Grammys can't make the same mistake for the 6th time in a row.

There's no way Kendrick is losing this year. Ed ain't no Adele or Taylor.

I would not be too shicked if Gaga won AOTY. She really had a come back in my opinion. Would be a somewhat of a shock, but not a bad one in my honest opinion.

If Beck won then I guess even the most irrelevant releases have a shot.

Gaga may not even be nominated, definitely a better album than majority of those some of you predict to be nominated.

Who could/should win....

Album of the Year:
24K Magic (Bruno Mars)

Record of the Year:
Redbone (Childish Gambino)

Song of the Year:
Redbone (Childish Gambino)

Childish deserves Song and Record of the Year, but you know how the Academy feels about American soul singers... Bruno's album paid homage to the 80s and 90s R&B, and he had hits from it. Plus it sold well. I think he is in a very great position for a AOTY win. I cannot get into Kendrick or Sheeran.

Bruno/Kendrick could be a tight competition for AOTY but honestly I prefer Kendrick to win because that's it for him. He's been snubbed way too much while he keeps delivering masterpiece after masterpiece. Bruno has yet to release his magnum opus and that will win him the AOTY one day.

Drake listen. Your label is the one who decides which song to submit and where to submit, not the GRAMMYs committee.
The grammy can still edit your submissions though?
They can and they have made that n the past. I heard it on an interview granted by one of the "major dogs" of the Grammys, can't recall which interview was.

Grammy process goes

label submit -> grammy review committee check If the song/album fit in the submitted genre + they can pass the song to other category -> first vote -> based on unnumbered top15 or top20(general) vote, nomination committee make 5 nomination -> final vote.

Damn will win album of the year, 100% guarantee
ROTY: Ed Sheeran "Shape of You". Despacito was bigger but they won't give it to them as grammys want to stay away from one-hit wonders and Bieber
SOTY: I don't know, for real perhaps Humble, Castle on the Hill, new sam smith song.
Best pop vocal album: Sheeran has it on the lock 100%, same goes for Kendrick on best rap album
Urban album: 24k Magic or Starboy. I feel like 24k magic has more potential at it as it represents more the genre than Starboy, plus the latter kinda loses some of the interest with 18 songs on it. and the big hits "Starboy" and "I feel it coming" are pop songs influenced by PR&B so, while 24k magic and That's what I like have more R&B on them...but two great contenders for sure :)

Agree 100% and I'm not a major fan of Kendrick Lamar, but it's time for him.

This year there a lot of wild cards. Dj Khaled, Logic, James Arthur, Childish Gambino, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, and Lorde any of these can score nominations. The latter three have been nominated and/or have won Grammys but their last album/singles have not been the most successful

4 days left. I think Kendrick is only one locked on AOTY.
Ed and Bruno both facing same situation. well liked, easy music but lacked critic's support.
they're popular/commercial act, both need big hit single in Q4 to get locked.

Leonard Cohen's album is good contender with his last album before death, and 92 on metacritic.
he also won Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010, but considering david bowie was snubbed. who knows...

Lorde has big chance with big critic's support but there's no buzz for her. no hit single, no talk.
her being well liked in industry, especially in alternative field is big merit. also lack of female ...

only other female have chance on nomination is miranda lambert, she has huge country block behind her.
and other country star could fill country spot is Chris Stapleton.

LCD Soundsystem is good contender for rock/alternative spot.
their big comeback album, big critic's support. album being 'current'.
they could give it to metallica tho.

there're also some urban/hiphop albums that got great reviews.
A Tribe Called Quest's 2016 album has 91 on metacritic, but it was released too early, no buzz..
Jay -z 4:44, him being kinda novelty respected act and songwriter hall of fame this year, he could land a nomination but If this happens, kendrick is in big problem.
others urban albums have no chance with those big 3 respected albums.

anyway since it's committee's decision it could go anyway.

I would also add Imagine Dragons in the rock category, they will have one nomination locked per category for sure and possibly one or two wins :)
Best Rock Album, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance, not major though:-?
