How on EARTH did Tom Jones only get to #388? :o I've just checked my votes and somehow, someway - I forgot to vote for him. He would've been in my top 10. I grew up on his music - I also love every album he's done since Reload; he's done a tremendous job of reinventing himself.

I like some of Ray Charles music but not enough to include him.

I found some votes for John Legend though, ranked him #47 - he has a couple of classics. To this day, Ordinary People is one of the best songs I've ever heard.

Originally had Joe McElderry in my list but removed him.

Chicane did a great job with Tom on Stoned In Love.

Jeff Lynne is a brilliant vocalist, awarded him 16 points.

Woo for Will Young! Love everything he's done to varying degrees, he's an exceptional talent! Love him even more since his nude leaked. Totally deserving of my 44 points.

Paul McCartney is a legend; I awarded him 33 points as his body of work across every act he's been involved with is probably the most successful and long-lasting of all-time.

Michael Bolton - how did I not include him?! :o  Love so much of his music.

I awarded James Morrison 28 points, I still listen to his Undiscovered album to this day - great memories of a great record.

Love a bit of Barry White, my mum used to play him loads.

-----------------------------------PAUL SIMON

You know you are an established songwriter when a group from a completely different genre cover your song some 52 years after the song was first written and it's still a hit, that's what happened with "The Sound of Silence" when metal band Disturbed covered it in 2015. Paul has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame two times, first in 1990 as part of Simon & Garfunkel and 2001 as a solo artist. I could prattle on but won't here, I'll do it near the end of the countdown. All of his albums are a treat but for those curious try out my two fave albums from him "The Rhythm of the Saints" and "Hearts and Bones". I'm going to post a few of his lessor known songs because just posting his hit songs does him a huge injustice and 4 songs just isn't enough.

Frank Ocean has such a uniquely identifiable style and sound. I adore his music, as well as the man himself. <3

Zayn's career has definitely gotten off to a solid start. Hope he keeps making good music.

Did you really have to label Adam "American squealer"? No me gusta. Adam is easily my favourite male American Idol graduate, and so much head and shoulders above the rest of his competition that season that I can only class his win as blatant homophobia at work. His music can be hit or miss, but when he gets it right, there isn't a better solo pop male in the industry who can hang with him...save for Mika perhaps.

"Happy" is one of my favourite songs this decade, so that alone basically got Pharrell onto my list.

Trey Songz sings about sex 98% of the time, and there are times I don't mind it, but most times I'd prefer if he could expand his lyrical repertoire a bit. "Pretty Girl's Lie" was so promising, but he never delivered on that promise.

I like Miguel's music. I think he's fairly underrated in the music industry, though he overrates himself sometimes.
