The shortlist for the BRITs Critics’ Choice 2018 award has been announced.

The award, which recognises “the future stars of British recording talent”, has previously been given to the likes of Adele (2008), Emeli Sandé (2012) and Sam Smith (2014). Rag’n’Bone Man took home the prize last year.

Yes! I'm backing Mabel but I personally don't mind who wins, all three are excellent.

Yes, i'm also backing Mabel for the win. I still think her next single (there's a snippet right at the end of the Finders keepers music video) is gonna hit hard in 2018.

What a great surprise to see, not only three female artists, but three that are representing the amazing UK urban music scene, up for the award.

I can see Jorja taking it, and I think she her career would benefit greatly from it! (Mabel and Steff have had their hits already)

They've been releasing great material for years, get into them.

Love all 3 nominees. Not surprised Jorja won, she could be a real album seller with the right push.

Good on her! She's not had a hit yet so it makes sense.

I'm glad Dua is performing! Ed and Sam are snoozy choices. It's a shame Paloma has been relegated to the nominations show.

Oh well, looks like Strip that down is either winning best british single or best video.

When the biggest moment of the Brits from the last 10 years is Madonna falling off stage, you realise it’s been going down for years

I assume JT will perform, as he’ll be in album promo mode then (assuming it drops before or days after his Super Bowl spot).

Liam's only on the nominations show.

The BRITs have been a bore with the odd glimmer for the past 10+ years, long gone are the days it could be relied on for some controversy or live fail (Madonna-aside).
