Nominations are out.

How middle class and beige. This ceremony gets worse and worse. Of course Ed will win everything. Two of the nominees in the male and female categories I’ve never heard of in my life. The fan voted awards will be won by One Direction members.

Rita Ora snubbed! Sam Smith snubbed! Steps snubbed despite a huge comeback, Kasabian snubbed despite a #1 album and huge tour.

They really need to switch it up and stop pushing who the industry wants, it’s so unfair.

Only happy for Dua and hope she sweeps the board. I’d love a Jax Jones win but I’m not holding my breath. Dance music is sorely underrepresented at these awards.

The music videos' nominations are awful/laughable though

However, Kate Tempest is anything but middle class

The best singles category is just tragic, jeez.
Happy for Paloma's nomination though.

Alicia Keys being nominated is a joke too, she released a muted album in late 2016. I know the BRITs year runs from November the previous year but still, there are so many other acts who could've been in there - Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Camila Cabello, Shania Twain... nah, not "cool" enough for the BRITs

Strip That Down and Mama the cream of British singles... really? They've just looked at the top sellers without actually considering the quality of the song.

Video of the year is a useless category because nobody is actually voting on the video.

I swear, no matter whether he's released an album or not, Beck is nominated EVERY YEAR!

International female solo artist

Alicia Keys
This is some kind of joke, right? That woman hasn't released an album in years and people don't even know who she is anymore, but she gets a Brit award nomination? Unbelievable.

Dua Lipa
Ed Sheeran
Foo Fighters
Jorja Smith
Rag 'N' Bone Man
Rita Ora
Sam Smith
Stormzy

Awks for Sam to perform despite being snubbed. No idea why Foo Fighters are there, I couldn't hum one of their songs from this album.

Kylie better be added.

This tbh. And I'll boycot them because they reduced Paloma to the nominations show.

One could argue that Foo Fighters are a legacy act. They have been active for almost 25 years.

Justin to perform at the 2018 awards for the third time in his career

The BRITs 2018 performance line-up continues to get bigger and better with the addition of multi-million selling superstar and three-time BRIT winner Justin Timberlake, who will appear at the live ceremony at The O2.

He joins previously announced talent Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Foo Fighters, Sam Smith, Stormzy, Rita Ora, Rag’n’Bone Man and Jorja Smith who will all take to the stage for the biggest night in British music.

This will be Justin’s third performance at the BRIT Awards, having appeared with Kylie Minogue in 2003, and again on his own ten years later. He has sold 32 million records worldwide and all of his studio albums have reached No. 1 on the UK charts.

BRITs Chairman & CEO and Chairman of Sony Music UK & Ireland Jason Iley said: ‘We are honoured to have an artist of Justin’s stature and relevance performing at this year’s BRIT Awards. He is one of the most exciting male solo artists in the world with success spanning more than two decades and is adored by music fans across the globe. The BRITs has an enviable history of being one of the most important platforms for incredible stand out TV moments from the biggest global artists and I have no doubt that Justin’s performance will be one to remember.'

The 38th BRIT Awards will be hosted by Jack Whitehall and broadcast live on ITV. Celebrate with us on 21 February!
"I got to do things my own way darling. Will you ever let me? Will you ever respect me? No!"
