Thanks, RayRay. I received your list. That makes 4 people. I was hoping to avoid PMing people like I did for the seasonal countdown, but I suppose I could send one out to remind people. FOr now, I have just increased the font in my signature.

Do we have to nominate songs already mentioned in this thread? Or can we just compile our own list?

You can compile your own list. The nominations are just a guide to help.

Excellent. Will vote in the next couple of days, though I’ll probably be the only voter for most of my songs.

I sent my list. I used Last.fm plays to sort my list, which worked out pretty well, I'd say. I think my #1 has a good chance to win.

Don't forget that you can vote for a maximum of three Girls Aloud songs.

^ I see RayRay has been helping out on the promotion front. I project at least 20 voters by Sunday.

Why? I think it's a reasonable cap. There was so much great music released in the noughties that it's not hard to max out at three per act.

I think it’s too restricting. It’s likely that my 4th favourite Janet or Mariah song is preferred to my favourite song of another female so my list would be too inaccurate to represent me

True, but I look at it this way - your fourth favourite Janet/Mariah 00s song is far enough down the list that its omission is likely not that critical. In composing my list, I think there were only about four songs that I had to exclude (because of the three-song cap) that hurt me a bit to leave out.

YAY :D

We are now up to 10, not counting the both of you. Maybe we can surpass the voters for the Seasonal Songs Countdown? I think that was 16 or 17. I suppose I will send out some emails, but I really didn't want to pester people to participate.

Regarding the three per artist rule, I will see if it should be reconsidered for the 1990s countdown. I put in the rule because there's so many great female artists out there, and I was hoping that doing so would increase the diversity of the list, but we'll see. I haven't looked at the lists yet to know if that theory worked in practice.

Thanks to everyone who has submit a list so far. :)
