Favourite cover versions?

Just wondering what everyone's favourite covers are?

Two of my favourite bands, Me First & The Gimme Gimmes and The Detroit Cobras, do nothing but punked up covers of old 50's and 60's songs, so I'd say anything by them, also Muse did a cover of 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You' which was pretty smart as well.

I'll second that, definetly download it! Might be able to get it from here, as Chris Moyles played it a fair bit.

Here's some more to add to my list:

AAF - Smooth Criminal (thanx for reminding me San - this is much better than the original!)
Grinspoon - Not Pretty Enough (the One Dollar Short version of this Kasey Chambers song is good, but the Grinners version is just that touch better)
Madison Avenue - Reminiscing
Deni Hines - I'm Not In Love (the best cover version of the 10cc song I've ever heard)
Phil Collins - A Groovy Kind Of Love (only just discovered the other day that this was a cover version!)

I'll keep adding to it as I think of more....
Let's embrace the point of no return.

I thought Alien Ant Farm's cover of Smooth Criminal was rubbish compared to the original. Way too noisy and fast.

My absolute favorite cover is...

Turn the Page - Metallica

The original by Bob Seger was awesome by itself.. and the cover just blew me away :o It's absolutely brilliant!!
is the shade of the night
the piercing sounds you make
soaring higher, higher now
and once left in my wake
your memory is nothing but the scars on me.

Nope, I liked it too although it's not one of my fave covers. Actually, I can only think of two at the moment (there must be more?!):

Aaliyah - Got To Give It Up (Thanks J for the reminder)
Louise - Lets Go Round Adain (I know it's kinda cheesy!)

Oh and I've thought of another:
Marilyn Manson - Tainted Love (seriously, I do think this is wicked!)

Agreed! I forgot about that one. Believe it or not I never heard the Elvis original until AFTER I'd heard the Pet Shop Boys' version. Needless to say I found the original very dull by comparison.
