How do you feel about instrumentals? What are your favourites or indeed what's your reason for not favouring them much?

I find it hard to connect to songs that are just a melody & no words but of course I wouldn't sit there listening to a cappellas all day

Baby One More Time instrumentals on repeat, because Max knows how to arrange in capital letters! :D

I usually pick the instrumentals for whichever pop song I'm interested in. We all need a little extra tambourine to make the song go *stink*

Arrangements are my passion :D

I love trance instrumentals. Not a fan of them in other genres.

Every song I love I had to get it in Instrumental, I just love them.

My favorite instrumental has to be:
Darin - Perfect (Great arrangement) 8-)

I have more than 500+ instrumentals.

I don't mind instrumentals, sometimes a song sounds just as good as an instrumental as it does with words...currently loving Country by Empire of the Sun (which is strictly an instrumental, not a song that already had words attached to it), I feel chilled out whenever I listen to it.
Let's embrace the point of no return.

J-pop artists are huge on instrumentals - they include one on nearly every single they release.

I love instrumentals personally, sometimes the music is my favourite part of a song and I wish the singers would shut up so I could hear the music

The one song I'd LOVE to hear an instrumental of right now is Cheryl Cole's "Boy Like You" - the opening and ending of the song is gorgeous, I'd love to hear the whole track without the vocals.
I've now met Dean Ambrose FOUR TIMES - 28/03/15, 02/04/16, 20/08/16 & 01/04/17!!

The one instrumental that I really love is 'The Price We Pay' by Rogue Traders - the epicness of it never grows old on me.

I like instrumentals - many of my favourite dance tracks are instrumentals.

I also like classical songs such as "Palladio", "Requiem For a Tower" and the instrumental theme to "Gladiator" - although that does have some vocal noises in it.

Ones that also stand out to me would be:
Rob Dougan - Clubbed to Death
Robert Miles - Children
John Murphy - In The House in a Heartbeat

Does anyone know where you can buy/download a range of instrumentals from? I'd like to have a few so that I could sing along to them by myself.

I LOVE instrumentals. My most recent faves would be both Beyonce (whod've guessed LOL) "If I Were a Boy" and "Sweet Dreams" mainly just that beautiful piano section SD I just love that part of the song and on instrumental you can hear it alot better!

...I also love the Xtina "Keeps Getting Better" one as its just so funky! :P

Instrumentals for commercial music are boring...they sound exacly the same from the beggining till the end

It all depends on the song... cases such as "Axel F", "Children" and "Sandstorm" really work as instrumentals, and would sound tacky if they had vocals (or in Axel F's case, frog noises), but stuff like Kenny G is just boring. :P

8-) I love this guy

I think there's a big difference between Instrumentals IE a composition with no vocals OR Instrumentals IE a composition from which vocals have been removed. Which ones are you referring to?

I don't agree with the idea that instrumentals for commercial music are boring :) . Without vocals, they are incomplete. They may also be repetitive - but they are usually built extremely smartly thus them becoming so commercial.

The most recent Instrumental CD I got is

Moroccan Spirit

I am a huge instrumentals fan.

I have almost every released single instrumental from my favourite musicians! Sometimes I buy a single because of the instrumental version! :D

Instrumentals (either in their own right or vocal-less versions) are great - I can't play music with vocals when I'm working as I get too distracted (short attention span!)

Lindstrom's instrumental album 'Where You Go I Go Too' is lovely, lovely, lovely.
Unplug the jukebox and do us all a favour!

I have nearly all Mariah songs as instrumentals... one of the best instrumentals is when you believe and lost/fix you by coldplay
