I'd rather have a piece of toast
And watch the evening news
This is definitely one of the worst lyrics. "Life" is quite a nice song but I enjoyed it more as a kid when I didn't understand English.
But the worst part of the song wasn't mentioned yet:
I'm a superstitious girl
I'm the worst in the world
Never walk under ladders
I keep a rabbit's tail
What does that even mean? I know rabbit's feet are considered lucky but a rabbit's tail? There's absolutely no excuse for that line, as the word "tail" doesn't even rhyme with anything else in the song, so she could as well have sung "foot".
