It is a compilation album and BMTL is one of their signature songs that leans itself for this project, alongside ofcourse My Immortal

Oh cool, i had no idea there was such an option. Well, i hope i'll be lucky on friday. They're one of the artists i've never seen before but are a 'must' to see for me.
And this is also a once in a lifetime thing with the orchestra, so even more special, I saw Ev live for the first time back in June and loved every second of it. After meeting the band back in June, I think this might be my favorite line-up, I hope we will see a proper album by this line-up sooner than later.

^ I know. This is such a 'must-see' :(

There seems to be a pre-sale happening on their website but just for VIP tickets, which are VERY expensive. I need to think about it for some minutes... cause i'm slowly running out of money with all these concerts this & next year

Anyways, the venue is all seated over here. Is it the same in other countries?

edit: Oh, VIP bundle includes the following stuff:
- One premium reserved seat in the first 15 rows
- One Signed tour program (includes sheet music, photos, lyrics)
- One Exclusive merch item
- Early Entry
- Crowd free merch shopping
- One commemorative VIP laminate

Not worth paying over 200 swiss francs for each ticket - i guess i wait until tomorrow, then :(

Lindsey Stirling is featured on the song "Hi-Lo"

(a shame that it seems she's not credited though)

The original is already amazing, but it works really well with the "Synthesis" concept, much better than "Bring Me To Life" IMO

Just bought it (since they didn't have a single copy of The Dark Element). Anyway, they played a few tracks at my favourite store and I loved the sound of it + The cover is stunning.
Can't wait to listen to it.

I also like the remakes; it's not perfect but some arrangements are very interesting and I like the vibe of the album.

I love this! It's better than expected actually. The nostalgia effect on some of the songs is immense.

It's so good to see them doing so well on iTunes. Somehow it's incredible how they still have such a good fanbase after all these years.

btw... i created a chart topic for those who are interested :)

I don't like it.
The idea was nice but the whole thing comes off as really boring and uninspired.

Yeah, this is a pass for me. I'm generally not into albums of reworked songs - there maybe one or two songs I like, but still not as much as the originals. Live/Unplugged is one thing, but studio re-workings are another. Alanis Unplugged vs. Jagged Little Pill Acoustic, for example. The former is STELLAR, and the latter is a non-event for me.

I did listen through most of this album and while I love strings - nope.

I've been listening to this a lot. It's stunning. The old songs they have redone really suit the sound!!

Okay, so this is such a clever thing to do for both of them! A shame they didn't do it already for the European tour dates. My fan heart would have died

Very cool they do that. Would also have loved it to happen in Europe. I am so hyped for the end of the month when I gonna see them in Amsterdam and meet them again.

I hope they will atleast release Hi-Lo then. I was kinda disappointed how the era is fully focused on touring and no other songs get focus so far. I know it's not the most commercial project. But I really grew to adore the new versions and I would have loved a video for one of the songs that never was a single to begin with to give it a new chance, with Hi-Lo closing the era.

^ yep, it's definitely win win situation for both of them.

And i completely agree when it comes to "Hi-Lo". Should become a proper single, including a great video. But the US tour with Lindsey only starts in Summer so there's plenty of time to still release it.

I'm still mad at them for not crediting Lindsey on "Hi-Lo" though. Like, a 'feat. Lindsey Stirling' would have attracted some buyers too.

...anyways. Today's the concert in Switzerland and it'll be my first time seeing them - can't wait! :D

So yesterday i was finally able to see Evanescence live and it was AWESOME!

Seriously, i think i have a little crush on Amy Lee. I'm not into woman at all but damn, that woman :o Her voice is so freaking incredible! I think this was the second best vocals i've experienced live so far, only behind Tarja (who studied classic & does opera singing style, so no surprise there i guess).

The setlist was strong, too. Of course, i really missed "Call Me When You're Sober" there but i already knew the list thanks to wiki/setlist.fm so it wasn't a surprise that they didn't play it, but it still would have been nice as it's still one of my faves by them.
Also, the encore was kinda weak. I've never been a big fan of "Good Enough"/"Swimming Home" so that was slightly boring, especially as the last two tracks of the list.
Plus it was a bit confusing how there was that classic intro which went around 20-30 minutes, and then a break of 30 minutes and after that, Evanescence came and played for around 80 minutes. The break was too long, but i should be used to long(er) breaks by now as it's happening more and more with concerts these days - at least that's how i feel.

But yeah, other than that, it was simply stunning. Amy, her voice, the songs, the arrangements, the band overall (the other female band member had to giggle all the time at one point and couldn't stop, which made the crowd giggling as well  ), and of course the orchestra. Amy was so down to earth. She didn't interreact that much with the crowd but when she did, she had all in her spell. Her voice is also better live than on the record IMO.

Last but not least... Pfff at Amy calling "My Immortal" her least favorite song

This was definitely not the last time seeing them live (if they keep on touring over the next years of course).

Sounds good, you def. should see them on a regular concert aswell. I saw them last year and enjoyed it very much. I will see them on Sunday. That about My Immortal is def. not a secret  but I guess it has to do that is more about Ben Moody's experiences than hers

^ haha yeah she said that it's a known 'secret' but they're still playing it because she knows how much the song means to her fans and through that it also got a meaning for her during all the years.

Wishing you lots of fun on sunday! :D

It was amazing. The band was as sweet as the last time. Jen was her funny self and made me crack up so hard during the pictures during the M&G, so I am curious to see how the pics look.

I agree that the orchestra shouldn't have such a long break, but the orchestra also makes me want an other Synthesis. The orchestral version of Together Again instrumental they played was amazing.

Amy really SANG her *ss off, the arrangements were amazing, I also agree about the encore it felt a bit underwhelming. I think it would have worked better had they placed the song differently and had ended with Imperfection in the encore, or even kept Weight Of The World after performing it that time. Or even put Call Me When You're Sober in an orchestral version.

I saw after the concert that Sharon Den Adel was backstage after the M&G with the band, how cool, I wonder if she stayed for the show
