Great to see Lleyton Hewitt being ranked high enough to play a qualifier, Hopefully he has another great season and a great run in Australia!

Nadal says he doesn't need a former great to coach him:

Nadal, who has been coached by his uncle Toni all his life, says he doesn’t need a tennis legend to guide him on tour. “My feeling is that is depends on the player,” said Nadal. “I think coaching tennis is not a big deal. We are not doing something very very difficult – tennis is a simple game at the end of the day.

“It’s more about the player believing in the work that his coach is doing. Some players need somebody who was a great champion in the past to believe in them. Someone for example like me, I don’t need to have a great champion in front of me coaching to believe that what that person is telling me is the right thing. “So in my opinion it’s more about the player than the coach. In my case, I never needed a former champion to be my coach. What I’m saying is that there are different ways to have the right coach.”

Serena and Vika through to the Brisbane final.

Vika played average for half of her match against JJ today, but found her shots in the end. Serena's first serve percentage was abysmal. She was lucky that Sharapova was equally as bad on serve. Sons nice winners from both girls though, considering Maria hasn't played since last August.

Yeah and considering he's had a lot of injuries over the last few years.

During the years 2007-2011 he reached 3 ATP Tour finals. Over the last 6 months he has reached 2.

What a great result for Hewitt! He is up to 43 in the world. He is top 50 in the world for the first time since september 2010.

True true.

Sill early days.. can't see him going past the third round at the open.

Nadal favourites with the punters which is interesting. Serena shortest fav in history atm

Serena and Li Na could end up on the same side of the draw Image

She's a contender though. She won Shenzen again last week, and has gotten to two AO finals.

I think round 1 Serena vs Venus.. it's bound to happen soon enough. With Venus flopping around atm ( she made the finals without need crutches last week)

I'm happy the next Grand Slam is almost here! Should be fun!

Are one of you aussies going to the open? Or other people? Don't know yet for who I'm going to stan. Don't have a clear cute favourite anymore.

If my end work is done in time, I'm definitely going to roland garros this year.

I went to the Roger Federer Foundation Charity match last night. Was a bit of fun.

Roger beat Tsonga in 3. Rod Laver came out and hit with Roger for a bit. Pat Rafter was there too. And Lleyton did presenting at the start.

Can't wait to go to the Open on Monday! :D

I'm going on Monday, with a ground pass. Which is access to all the outside courts.

I haven't bought tickets to any Rod Laver matches yet. I'm going to play it by ear, because I have heaps of uni work. But I think I might go on women's semi finals day or to one of the mens semis.

The first few days at the AO is amazing. The atmosphere is great. I worked at the Open last year and it was just so much fun!
