Interesting group for Scotland. The best Scotland team in quite a while I think!
Sorry, but Scotland chances are small.
(This time you haven't Croatia in your group).
Sadly there are no world number 4 in the group but Germany are number 2 in the world so we might give them a game.
Back in the Euro 2008 qualifiers we also beat France twice 1-0. Who at the time we're World Cup runners up and close to the top of the world rankings. On the last game of qualifying that year we played Italy at Hampden and we're narrowly beaten 2-1 by a 91st minute goal from a free kick which was never a free kick. We finished 3rd in that group two points behind France.
In the Euro 2012 qualifiers we also came third in the group which included Spain. One of the best teams of all time. Narrowly missing out. A critical game was Czech Republic at Hampden with 4 games left we needed a win. We we're 2-1 up with minutes to go and Czech Republic we're awarded a penalty which was never a penalty and the rest they say is history. Another interesting fact from that group was Spain only conceded 6 goals in 8 games, 3 of those goals we're scored by Scotland. In a tight 3-2 loss at Hampden then a 3-1 away loss.
Don't even get me started on Euro 2004
What I'm trying to say is historically in qualifying for the Euro's we haven't been too bad in recent history.
For videos of what I was talking about... Euro 2012 vs Czech Republic (I must add moments after Czech Republic we we're denied a penalty) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLZm5kNo6SI
Euro 2008 v Italy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQVpYvP4toc
Have a little watch and you'll see what I'm talking about. Still very painful to watch.
