The Manor F1 team have ceased trading after administrators failed to find a buyer for the outfit.

All 212 staff members at the team's Banbury factory were sent home on Friday with all but a handful set to be made redundant on Tuesday. The workforce will be paid for January.

Administrators had been in talks with would-be buyers, including an Asian consortium, but no deal to save the team from collapse was forthcoming.

..

Sky Sports understands Manor needed an additional £500,000 of investment to get through to F1's winter tests at the end of February. Although administrators had been in talks with interested parties, sources close to the situation have indicated that no would-be buyer was close to striking the required deal.

That's the last of the Class of '10. Four teams accepted, seven years on and only three collective points to show for it.

I'm surprised they lasted so long. A shame though as it's nice to see lower teams' progression.

^Indeed. I would love to have seen them make it at least into the mid-field proper.

Fernando Alonso to miss Monaco GP to race in Indy 500
Fernando Alonso will miss the Monaco GP to race in the Indianapolis 500 next month.

The double world champion will race in a Honda-powered McLaren which will be run by the Andretti Autosport team on May 28.

"I'm immensely excited that I'll be racing in this year's Indy 500, with McLaren, Honda and Andretti Autosport," Alonso said.

So awkward. I said at the time that it looked like all four wheels were off the track so am not too surprised.

I'm ready for the next season to be honest.

The weird thing is that others were off the track as well, but didn't get marked down... :-?

Yeah but others didn't gain a position from it, that's the difference. Quality racing from Max nonetheless.

^ Vettel overtook Bottas going off track and didn't get marked down. He gained a position doing so.

Barely any competition, F1 is slowly turning into a non-event for me

Glad Renault got 6th place, definitely better than Toro Rosso despite the lack of reliability in the second half of the season. Roll on 2018!

The new logo is awful.
All three suggestions were awful though.
Don't understand the need to change it.
The old one was perfect.

Yes. It looks cheap and tacky, really not nice.

Schumacher lived up to the big man status, I perceive Louis more as a celebrity than a F1 driver.

Final race was beyond awful, seeing 5 cars driving together in the same order (even if they were near the back) for most of the race as cannot pass each other and the front 2 staying around 1-2 seconds apart for most of the race, Lewis was right they need to do something with this track

And then there's the new 'logo', just bring back the old one, new one is pathetic

On a positive note GP2 race 2 was good fun, Charles Leclerc taking victory on the last lap! Look forward to the Monacan in F1 next season (hopefully) he's has a big future in F1
