Snooker Season 2017/18

John Higgins is a brilliant player, but he just isn't charismatic enough for me. I rarely remember him taking a real gamble like Ronnie who can't be tamed playing a long, tactical game. :)
Ronnie is a troubled diva, yet he manages to grab the headlines.
Mark Selby is a posterboy, he probably has a lot of fangirls :D

It's very rare I have a final where i'm happy if their player wins.

Higgins currently 5-2 up...

I always seen Judd Trump as a poster boy.

^It could have been either Judd or Neil Robertson, but they've kinda faded at the moment
John is playing really well

I'm hoping John can make a small comeback and make the match go on for a while longer...

Two frames in a row from John now to cut his deficit in half... Selby still 16-14 up...

Mark Selby made it three!
Congratulations!
John Higgins gave a stellar performance (even though he is not my personal favourite, I have to admit it), dominating the first two sessions in the final. I think, John and Ronnie are going to win some more trophies in the future, because there isn't a single player really dominating the game at the moment

I'm really pleased to see John back at the top of the game. He is 42 in a just under two weeks. A few years ago I thought his time was up but fair play to him over the last 2 years. I think we need to enjoy seeing Higgins and O'Sullivan still at the top of the game (and even Mark Williams in the top 16). Cause it wont last forever but it just goes to show how good they are!

Ryan Day held off Stephen Maguire's fight back in the Riga Masters final to win 5-2 and take his first ranking title and return to the world's top 16.
Welshman Day took a 4-0 lead over the Scotsman only for Maguire to reply by winning the next two frames.
But after four previous defeats in finals in his 18-year career, the 37-year-old edged a cagey last frame to take the trophy.
Day had beaten fellow Welshman Mark Williams 5-4 to make the final.
Maguire beat Ireland's Ken Doherty 5-4 in the semi-finals to earn his chance against Day.

Yeah it's great to see Ryan win a title. Not so much a surprise as he is a top 16 player when he finds his form.
It was also great to see Anthony Hamilton and Mark King win their first titles last season.
I'm loving all the new tournaments and love seeing the growth of the tour!

It is. I've noticed I've watched much less of it than I would a full tournament.

I think it's a matter of few years until China finally has their own world champion.

Yeah I think so.
I would love to see Ding win it at some point. It would be massive for the game!

Either of these guys would be massive!
It'll be interesting to see if Selby can maintain his good form!
