Toulouse 26-33 Glasgow!!!! :o :o :o

Glasgow produced one of the greatest upsets in Heineken Cup history with a brilliant win over Toulouse in France.

The visitors took a shock 23-3 lead at half-time courtesy of tries from Graeme Morrison and Kelly Brown, with Dan Parks adding 13 points with the boot.

Max Evans' score extended Glasgow's lead after the break, but Toulouse hit back with nine points from Jean-Baptiste Elissalde and a penalty try.

Vincent Clerc's 76th minute try set up a thrilling finish as Glasgow held on.

Although Glasgow cannot qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition, coach Sean Lineen will be delighted with arguably the club's greatest result against the three-time champions - their first victory on French soil.

Morrison capitalised on a mistake from Clerc, who failed to clear danger from a grubber kick, to touch down in the 12th minute, with Parks adding the extras from the conversion.

An Elissalde penalty gave the home side their first points of the match, but Glasgow soon extended their lead when Parks' chip saw John Barclay feed fellow back-rower Brown for the second.

A Parks drop-goal just before half time ensured Glasgow took an incredible 20-point lead at the interval.

The stunned home crowd saw Elissalde claw back six points with two penalties at the start of the second half, but once again Toulouse failed to deal with a grubber kick, giving Evans the opportunity to touch down in the 69th minute, with Parks adding the extras.

But the French champions responded with two tries in four minutes to set up a tense finale.

Referee Wayne Barnes awarded a penalty try, converted by Yannick Jauzion, in the 72nd minute before Clerc's try.

Gaffie du Toit added the conversion as well as a late penalty, a score which saw Toulouse take a consolation bonus point.

Glasgow coach Sean Lineen:
"It was an absolutely fantastic result and I am so proud of every one of the guys.

"They stuck to the game plan and it worked a treat. We kept the ball well and Dan Parks was simply outstanding.

"Having said that, it was a real team effort, with the front row having to work their socks off. Everyone connected with the squad is totally delighted."

Great Result!! just gutted it didnt mean anything!!

That maybe so my good friend but top of the table is top of the table,it would be great to see both Scottish sides do well in the Magners League and for once do really well in Europe!

So every bit of morale boosting is needed!
