Wow; this song isn't that great.

Smart move to release a Christmas song to get that #1 spot on the Single Charts but seriously, what about longevity? - He will be forgotten by the end of next month.

Maybe it's better that Saara didn't win. She wouldn't have been able to make that winning entry "any better".

Yeah this wouldn't have suited her at all.

Saara seems genuinely pleased for him. Such a lovely lady.

I thought after Ben the public might have realised the winner needs more than looks. Even Kelly Clarkson couldn't save him.

I think that's the point. After Louisa bombed, they can blame this flopping on it being an Xmas song. They even added the charity element to try and flog a few more copies.

It's so disappointing that the winning performance/winning song was the weakest one of all performances tonight.

This! What a dire track. It won't trouble the top 5 and hopefully he'll be forgotten by next year's series.

It's so obvious they got Ed to pen a song for Matt, and then Saara put a late spanner in the works which they just about managed to swerve. :(

It seems to me that the betting results were predicting roughly the correct order each week, even down to Honey G landing at 4 or 5.
It's interesting that Ryan was voted off even though Honey G had the least vote. He will be pissed off when he sees that. Also I was right. If they had kept the lifeline vote for an extra week it would have showed Honey G in the bottom 3. So that was a great way to manipulate the votes.
Shafted by the series was Gifty and Ryan, Sam Lavery and Four of Diamonds, though they should have gone earlier.

Of course the results don't explain why Honey G got as high as four in the voting.

Clearly something bad happened to Saara for her vote to drop from Saturday night's freeze to the close of play. Or something happened to Matt to increase the vote.
Was it Nicole's duet with him? Or homophobic voters? After seeing her partner? Or just some bad song choices to sing at the final for her?

What happened to both candidates singing the winners single before the voting closed? It was always done before like that. I sometimes thought it decided the winner. Though looking at the voting after perhaps not.

And I have to agree that single is crap! Not because Matt is singing it. It just is. I can't work out if it is worse than Forever Young

I keep reading how the teenage girls, the gays and the grannies are to blame, but I feel very offended. Pretty much every gay I've asked wanted Saara to win. In fact, I don't know any Matt fans!

Nobody seems certain what Matt sexuality is. So he might have a gay following too. But I think at the end of the day Matt was going to win, because it's clear from the results that Matt got most of the votes each week, even when he was not top. Clearly the Newspaper muck raking in the last few weeks caused him some damage to his vote. But Simon Cowell was also having a go at him in the last few weeks. Matt was also given some bad song choices. Which dinted his vote. But tonight seemed to have been Saara's turn at bad song choices. The Queen song didn't help her either the other night.

Matt's single entered the iTunes chart at number 5. But he did sing the Winner's single on the show, before he won! It must be a double AA side.

Current iTunes chart...
1 Louis Tomlinson & Steve Aoki - Just Hold On
2 Matt Terry - When Christmas Comes Around
84 Matt Terry - Say You Won't Let Go

As you can see he has two tracks!
It does get around the Christmas thing not selling after Christmas. But to be affective it will require the OCC to combine the two sales. Will they do that?
They haven't in the past with AA singles. Easy to do with physical products harder to do with none ones.

I don't think it is AA. It has a release date on iTunes of October, and the copyright is MT Music, not Simco / SyCo.

Matt is top now on iTunes, but for how long?

The other record is also at 55. So he didn't sing it on the final? I must admit I was preoccupied with something else, till near the last half hour. So I am not sure what he did sing.

Right now he's doing better on iTunes than Louisa, Louisas peak was getting a 0.41 lead, Matts lead now is at 0.43 and against a new song that was also performed (Louisa didn't have to compete against new songs). Without the new song Matts lead would be 0.74

The problem is that he won't probably get the N.1 on the singles chart as he has 2 less sales days than the other songs.
