I’m hoping for an uptempo funk song with edge.
He's going to do his standard country-folk style, I suppose.
Another Bob Douwe type of an entry

Country is only something he has been diving into recently. It's not what he's known for or where his roots lie though.
A mix of soul/funk/pop with some rock edge is where his roots are and what he does best.

I really hope it won't be another slow country-pop song.

Didn’t expect this at all! Great that they picked Waylon for a second time, hope the song is an uptempo and he wins.

He said in an interview yesterday that it most likely will be country again... Hope that’s not the case.

Came here to post this as well.
Apparently,F.Y.R. Macedonia already paid its debt weeks ago. The EBU seems to like some drama.

It's really cool it will still take part, though! - It's a pity I already asked a moderator to delete the posy reserved for the Macedonian entry on the second page of this thread as well as the posts reserved for other non-participating countries. Anyway, I will put the country's entry in the end (there's still a post left for a surprising debut).

Maybe the EBU will have another surprise for Christmas and Andorra or Kazakhstan will participate? xD

Oh Waylon! I was expecting a female singer.

I love his 2014 single LoveDrunk (released a couple months after Eurovision)

Deben and William from Wiwibloggs are trying to drum up support to get entered for the San Marino competition, I don't know how that would work for Wiwibloggs if they actually got selected

Oh gosh. They have already done enough damage in the Finnish preselection this year; I don't need them to **** up the San Marino one as well.

Btw, Austria will announce its entrant tomorrow morning!

They basically were the British jury in the preselection and gave 12 points to the bigfest fanwank ever (that Emmelie de Forest wannabe who was not able to hit most of the notes). Ironically, that wannabe got the first wildcard of the preselection of San Marino.
+ They didn't give any points to My First Band's entry which got 12s by ither juries and was - in my opinion - the inly track which might have reached the final (alongside "Blackbird").

It's time for some news/rumors:

ALBANIA will host its National Final later this month. On 23rd December we will get to know the first official Eurovision entry! - Albania has just released all tracks. You can listen to them on Youtube.

AUSTRALIA will announce its entrant on Monday. However, there are rumors stating that it's Ricki-Lee. She also just liked the official Twitter account of the Eurovision Song Contest today. Coincidence? - I don't think so!

AUSTRIA will be represented by César Sampson and his song "Nobody But You" - He has been part of the Bulgarian entries in 2016/2017, either as one of the entries' producers or backing singer.

CZECH REPUBLIC just announced that they will host a national final to select their entry. The country chose its entrants internally for the last 3 years.

HUNGARY just announced the participants of its NF. Check out the list here.

LATVIA released all its possible Eurovision entries. It will host a national final titled "Supernova" next year. Have a listen to all songs here.

NORWAY Eurovision winner Alexander Rybak (Norway 2009) and Stella Mwangi (Norway 2011 "Haba Haba") seem to return to the Norwegian National Final.

SLOVENIA just announced the artist competing in their national final. No songs in English have been submitted since the country used a language rule.
BQL ("Heart of Gold", Slovenian NF 2017) make a comeback as well as Slovenia's ESC entrant 2016, ManuElla (that Taylor Swift wannabe).
See the full list of participants here.

What I really like this season is that many countries seem to host National Finals; especially countries which have been gone the "internal selection" process in the last years such as France, Serbia, Slovenia, San Marino, Czech Republic, Montenegro, Greece and maybe even Croatia.

Jessica Mauboy will represent Australia next year!
She has already performed in the semi-final in 2014 to introduce Australia to the fans.

Tbh, I am quite surprised she had been asked to represent Australia after that messy and totally **** up performance in 2014. "Sea of Flags" was a horrible and dull song to begin with and her vocals were a huge mess. I am not sure if she's capable of handling stress and pressure that well. Maybe Eurovision is not the best idea? - Anyway, I am looking foward to listening to the Australian entry. The last three ones have been great to amazing.

Yeah but also band of different genres which is very interesting and refreshing to see. + Ivy (the first The Voice of Germany winner) is very talented, love her voice! She just needs the right song to shine, in my opinion.

^I hope Ivy won't be thrown under the bus with a mediocre song relying completely on her vocals (which might be a possibility with the trend Germany entries took over the last 3-4 years)

Truth told (even though I love "Ghost" and I think that Jamie-Lee did deserve to be ranked among the Top 10).

I just want a great song with a compelling chorus & a climax/middle 8 which is interesting.
