I saw a play focusing on this feud a few years ago and they really disliked each other

I'm firmly Team Bette though - Joan Crawford was the type of woman who had a stick shoved up her arse but denied it, whereas Bette would admit to it and then tell you where to go

I like Bette better because you know... "Mommie Dearest"

Though Mommie Dearest still not being available on Blu-Ray is a crime. Shanghai Surprise is out on HD but not Mommie Dearest??

Initially I thought that they may have got the casting the wrong way round but the trailer gives me a little more faith that they made the right decision.
Ready to see Sarandon in full "Baby Jane" mode.

"DID YOU F*CK JOAN CRAWFORD?!!!" Alright, I will definitely use this when I confront anyone in real life!

My gay heart gagged at the cinematography, the set design and all the shadiness!

The episode made me realize how I miss Jessica Lange. I love the contract signing scene, from Bette snatching the left chair to Joan's death stare! I'M LIVING!

Despite reservations a wholly enjoyed the first episode.
Can't wait to have some more intense scenes between these two powerhouse actresses.
It's a great premise for a series and it'll be interesting to see who they plan on covering for future seasons.
I'm putting in my vote for a Hitchcock Vs Hedren about the film makers obsession with his cool blonde and basically derailing her career.
Till then more Joan and Bette!!!

It started off well, went a little slow in the middle, but really picked up at the end. Will be watching this!

Absolutely terrific first episode! The casting couldn't be more perfect. Catherine Zeta Jones at the beginning alone was a highlight. Let alone Jessica and Susan.

In a world where people have made the Kardashian's a tv franchise it doesn't really surprise me that a show focusing on the private lives of actresses from the Hollywood's golden age making what would become a cult favourite isn't doing "Game of Thrones" style ratings.
The most important thing for me is that Murphy is actually engaged and committed to this project and it shows in the quality. Hopefully the wheels stay on and they can deliver till the finale where his shows wheels notoriously and continuously fall off.
Episode 3 has been the standout thus far but I have a feeling the real fun and cattiness will begin now that the filming is over. Going to wait till this show is over for a "..Baby Jane" and "Mommy Dearest" (loved the little nod to it in the latest ep) but so far they haven't put a foot wrong.

The last episode was kinda slow. Still very much enjoyable, but not a whole lot happened.

I thought Episode 4 was the weakest so far and was underwhelming considering it detailed the film's release. The structure seemed a little all over the place but I think the biggest flaw was that there weren't any scenes of Bette and Joan together other than a phone call, and there probably won't be many now that filming has wrapped.

Last night's episode was definitely the best one yet. The moment when Bette didn't win and Joan picked up the award for Anne Bancroft :o Epic!

Yeah, good episode. At the start of the series, they were both equally villains but now Joan is definitely an evil bitch
