Just think that if that were two episodes, Mick would’ve got both duff-duffs. I nearly fell asleep tonight.

I can’t stand his friend. They’re really pushing it with Mick lately. If Danny Dyer gets bored because Mick takes a backseat, so be it. EE don’t need him.

It wouldn’t shock me if he had something in his contract about appearing in a certain high amount of episodes/having constant storylines/getting the most duff duffs. It’s a shame as I loved the Carters when they first joined.

As did I. The issue is they worked as a family unit - it’s the fun, sibling stuff and young adult/young parent banter stuff that’s missing. The Vic felt like a home and having a family in there imo worked well. Except of course they left the kids with no storylines so the actors walked away.

Nowadays it’s always Linda having the hump because Mick’s gone and done something he probably shouldn’t have, yet Linda works best when she’s in fun, tunnel vision mode. I loved them during Royal Wedding week in the bar.

It’s a shame they lost so many characters - the three kids, Stan, Sylvia, Tina’s MIA (they should bring back her firefighter ex, she was good) and they ruined Dean forever (how can he come back, an unconvicted rapist?).

Anyway. In summary Sharon needs The Vic. Shove Mick and Linda in The Albert.

Shove Mick in the canal, let Sharon run the Vic and employ Linda as head barmaid alongside Tracy and some fresh blood (no Woodys or Halfways).

I still say we need a new family, but the opposite of the Taylors. A bit of money, siblings in their mid to late 20s and married parents in their mid 50s. No links to anyone else, like when the Slaters moved in.

To be honest I don’t trust the current team to get anything right though.

I genuinely feel like (almost) any random person could do a better job running the show. I volunteer as tribute.

Me, you and men would easily produce a better show.

To be fair, I’d keep Dyer in the show. He’s a good draw and can be decent. I’d get him back to the character he was when he had Nancy and Jonny (original) around him.

I saw that on their Instagram (yes, I follow EastEnders on Instagram). It looked awful, just like the show this week.

Why would anyone want to help Max get Abi Jr when he killed the baby’s dad and is essentially the reason Abi is dead.

I swear to god Mick had every duff-duff last week.

I seriously cannot take anymore of Stuart. I'm so close to deleting it off my planner.

Stuart had one duff-duff and Mick had two (it would’ve been three if there had t been an hour long episode).

They released the summer trailer and it looks awful. Tina becomes involved in this storyline, which might be potentially interesting and Donna’s exit looks set to actual be a storyline which will be great. The rest of it was just Kat and Hayley crap, Mick, Stacey and Martin kissing and that’s it.

Oh god, he will be won’t he. In fairness I’m very surprised they haven’t brought her back into it - recast or not.

Tonight's episode was just so so harrowing. I was crying through most of it. So so well done.

The funeral episode was an experimental one - it was intercut with monologues from the parents of those who have actually been stabbed to death in London this year. Not actors.

Then as they carried the coffin out of the church, they had even more real life parents and loved ones holding images of those who had been stabbed to death lining the route to the cemetery - images being on iPads, phones, framed photos, etc.

It was very tasteful and very emotional. I like how instead of taking the characters out into the real world, they invited the real world into the show - because quite frankly it brought the devastation home.

It’s so regular now to see reports of another stabbing, but it’s so numerous atm that each report just feels like a statistic update. Why the news isn’t focusing on the personal aspect I don’t know, but the show did and when you see so many people who have lost someone so senselessly it drives the point home.

There was a touching scene too I thought, where Kat asked Jack if he was alright. Nice to see them remember that shared history, even for just 10 seconds.

I watched in the end and it was a very thoughtful idea and worked so well! The scene where they carried the coffin out to the real life families was so strong.

I know her dad was there but they missed a trick not having Brooke Kinsella appear!

To be fair, I’ve forgotten what Brooke looks like and she wasn’t in the show that long.

But I thought it was a massive risk and have seen a mixed reaction. Having just watched the episode, I thought it was great. A tiny bit jarring at times but it worked, especially the final scene in the graveyard.

In terms of the plot, Bonnie Langford was brilliant, as were Davood and Diane. Fantastic performances all around. A shame that the show has just revered back to Stuart and Ian/Masood “comedy”.
