It's just an excuse to have another storyline full of gormless Mick duff-duffs.

I mean, in their defence the failmy that lives in The Vic are usually the shows leading players. But I know what you mean. The show is literally just mulling over until the new producer starts but this Mel storyline with her ex has supposedly been building up since she returned - indeed, it was the storyline pitched to Tamzin when they asked her back. So we might see some form of improvement now it’s started.

I have every faith that Kate Oates will get me watching this again. She's great at "event" television and story climaxes.

It’s episodes like Friday’s. Surely Linda being arrested would’ve made more sense as the final scene as opposed to Dyer’s mug.

Spoiler:
Ruby Allen back next week. Back to do a rape storyline exploring the issue of consent. The rape will not play out on screen like Linda’s.

Interesting choice of character... someone we know but don’t really know, leaving the audience free to not get emotionally involved based on existing character knowledge - but to have enough history with so that the story lands.

I have no idea how this ties into the story but Mick...

Spoiler:
Danny Dyer on the west end for a few weeks:

Maybe he’s inside until trial? Or a break once the storyline is all over? I hate the idea of anything dragging out that long...

Let me summarise what you’ve missed:

The Carters have drama with Stuart.

Seriously, if I wasn’t ocd with shows and not missing an episode, I’d give up.

Stacey has been rediculous this last week, bullying Martin and trying to get him to lie to the police for Ruby.

Who do we think is blackmailing Sharon?

What’s happened to Hayley? I’ve stopped watching until I read spoilers of something that tickles my interest or if Denise is in an episode.

She gave birth in what looks like a drug hovel (don’t ask), all alone... and the last shot was of her holding her baby asking it to wake up.

Denise has been MIA since... well, 2017 maybe?

Honestly people have forgotten that Kim is about 15 months pregnant and that lush did the dirty on Denise. Terrible storytelling from EE this year.

Well...

Spoiler:
Dean Daftney said someone was returning, and I’ve read we get to hear what happened to Vincent soon, so I wouldn’t surprised if he pops back in for a moment. Stupid idea getting rid of him anyway - decent actor and the character had potential.

The new boss has a history of LGTB characters, so I’m hoping Denise finds out about Kush’s one night stand and decides he has a secret bisexual side

They actually have no male LGBT characters at the moment. They need to get on that.

As for a return, if it’s not Vincent, I’d love to see Jane return. I know Alfie is back in a couple of weeks unfortunately.

Haven’t watched an episode in four months and haven’t missed it one bit.

I’ll join back in at Christmas and hope that the Kate Oates episodes appear on screen soon after.

I think they will... she’s supposedly got 3 old names (who knows about the faces) she wants to bring in. I’m guessing Peter, Ben and Jane, which makes sense - all part of the Beale Family.

Though I’d love Ricky, Liam and Janine to come back and re-create the Butcher Family around Tiffany.

I’d even bring back Cindy with Liam - loved her by the end of her run.
