Yeah I was gonna say it'll be the audience age.

NTAs are on but they're same old, same old... Ant & Dec winning everything and everyone patting each other on the back while trying to get as much camera time as possible.

As are most awards shows. BAFTAs tends to fare a bit better though.

I don’t think the NTA ratings were too bad actually. The entire thing is just a money spinner for ITV anyway - the cost of putting on the awards is probably covered from public ticket sales anyway.

I watched the NTA's till about 9pm then I gave up. Most of the shows getting awards I had not watched anyway, so what was the point. The problem with the award shows is it is not fair to the smaller audience channels, when you have the public voting with a show that gets 2 million and one that gets 7 million watching it.
I understand that Game of Thrones was nominated, but was against Strictly Come Dancing as the best show! Really as though Strictly could even compare with such a masterpiece of drama

I take that to mean you have not seen Game Of Thrones.
They even had SCD people dressed up as GoT characters.

If they put GoT on BBC One it would slaughter SCD ratings. Not that it is going to happen OFFCOM would have a fit if that was free TV.

I have seen GoT, and I didn’t like it. That aside, you’re right that the two are completely different and incomparable shows.

On a Sunday night, sandwiched between Antiques Roadshow and David Attenborough sounds like a great time slot for it.

Pretty dire for CBB but in line with the series I guess?

Emmerdale holding strong but Corrie slipping a little.

Market shares are pretty good for C5 though. I think it’s odd that W&G is on a Friday night through as their original audience are now almost definitely down the pub

Hopefully someone over at DS compiles the series ratings for CBB but the last 7 days running up to the finale were:

27/1 - 1.24m (no share info)
28/1 - 1.26m (no share info)
29/1- 1.46m (7.0%)
30/1- 1.32m (7.0%)
31/1- 1.33m (6.4%)
01/2 - 1.22m (6.2%)
02/2 - 1.57m (8.3%) - FINALE 21:00 show
02/2 - 1.45m (10.6%) - FINALE 22:30 show

So a good 300k+ tuned back in to see Courtney win.

Yes but why would you watch the 9pm show and not tune back in to see the winner announced? I mean it’s the C5 version of a Wednesday Corrie

I watched one performance last week (three fat ladies singing a show tune) and I loved the concept tbh.

Might watch it this coming Saturday.

I thought it was crap and cringe.

^ Fair point. Aside from SCD, the last time I was truly engrossed in Saturday night TV was when Merlin was on screens, or Tennant’s Doctor Who. That being said, I’m gonna stat watching Jodie Whittaker when she takes over.
