I agree with Mike. It was an exhausted TV show, no need for it to be revived.

How did the 2 John Simm programs fare last night? I caught a bit of Collateral and enjoyed it.

Plus Neighbours was on at 22:00 so I wondered how that did.

Was Troy: Fall Of A City any good? It’s the sort of thing I’d enjoy but unsure. Tell me there’s nudiry and I’m sold.

Reading the comments over at DS, it is getting slaughtered.

Apparently, not good at all.

BBC1 on a Saturday night infuriates me - they have such a good lead in with Pointless and they throw it away with the rest of the night's programming. Something like Graham Norton would do wonders on a Saturday night. It's not even like they can blame a strong showing from ITV1 for it.

Saturdays nights are just not a BBC ‘thing’. As soon as I heard that Troy was on on Saturday and not Sunday, I knew it wasn’t going to be great. I haven’t watched it (I will), but the BBC don’t put great drama on on a Saturday at 9pm - they put the stuff on then that they commissioned for Sunday evenings, but fell short.

I would say the first episode was slow with no action. As for the actress playing Helen, she was no great beauty. Good looking yes, but not somebody would go mad for!

It's weird how BRITs don't seem that bothered by awards shows, unlike Americans.

I enjoyed the BAFTAs, but it was a pointless watch as I haven’t seen the films yet! Our award shows are a much more muted affair than in the US, where most of Hollywood turn up. Surprised we managed to get Angelina and Jennifer Lawrence to be honest (despite Jennifer being quite a cow to Patz!)

The thing with these awards are that some films aren’t accessible. I, Tonya isn’t even released here until next week.

Surprised Call The Midwife is so low, considering it gets around 10M - unless it makes it up on iPlayer.

I watched the Brucie tribute - enjoyable in the end.

One observation I would like to make - Jane McDonald is C5’s saviour, her ratings are really very good for the shows she’s doing.

Read a pathetic article in The Sun (ghastly tabloid).

It was talking about how Troy is a flop with 1.6M last weekend (fair point) but to make it look worse, it said ‘The Voice got an astronomically high 4.7M’ in comparison.

Now everybody knows that less than 5M for prime time is anything but good! And the two don’t even air at the same time I think.

At this time of year I think you’d expect 4-5m but 1.6m is terrible for a Saturday night.

A decent enough peak for DOI considering the ratings its had overall but I doubt ITV are overjoyed. I expect a fair few changes next year, they need to: bin Ashley Banjo; get T&D back involved with the choreography and off the panel, hire celebrities who may have a fighting chance of actually being decent as 3/4 of this year's crop were dull as dishwater.

It’s winter though. So ratings should be higher than 5M
