I think she’d be a great edition to the show long term if they move her into the street somehow and get her to clean up her act a bit.

Very glad Sally won and is Mayor - I love it when she gets all high and mighty. I remember Alf being Mayor years ago and Betty being his plus one to events instead of Audrey (who I think also ended up as Mayor?)

Can we just skip Anna’s trial and have them throw away the key?

Idiot! Assuming he was drunk.

I don't want Anna to be beaten by Phelan, she deserves some sort of victory over him! I hope she doesn't go to prison but perhaps decides to leave anyway cos of how everyone's treated her.

Surely they wouldn't kill Gary off off-screen just weeks after doing the same with Katy?!

I reckon Gary will be back in a few months.

Gary will most probably be back by the end of the week. She did the same thing by ‘killing off’ Ross Barton when she was at Emmerdale.

I hate how the 8:30pm episode ALWAYS starts before 8:30pm. So if EastEnders is running til 8:29pm for example, you switch over and Corrie's already begun. Not sure why they do that.

Agreed. You gotta be holding the remote ready and waiting to stand any sort of chance

Oh dear Anna  as if it couldn't get any worse for her! Maybe she's knocked some sense into Eileen.

Watched about 15 episodes on catch up today. It hasn’t been dull, but literally in a handful of episodes we’ve gone from Anna trying to keep a family together and kids out of the care system (and quickly forgotten) to Anna being over-drugged by the prison, escaping and battering Eileen half to death.

I can’t deny that the drama is there, but I have to admit that as good as the current producer is, she doesn’t understand Corrie - we’ve had 2 murders, someone framed for attempted murder (and then drugged, escaped, and now on charges for almost killing someone else), someone groomed and gang raped, a 3 week cancer diagnosis and cure storyline, a week long fake death and very soon

Spoiler:
Peter revenge kidnapping Billy and David being drugged and raped.

I mean, I appreciate soaps need to get viewers and that Corrie has an obligation to produce 3 hours of content a week, but honestly, this would be too much for Eastenders

It has been a lot darker since Kate Oates really got her teeth into it I agree. I think she could potentially spoil it, whereas with Emmerdale she went from strength to strength because there was a lot of warmth amongst the drama whereas Corrie is lacking warmth and humour now.

They killed Billy :o

I didn't see that coming... I wonder if it's a rewrite based on Todd's exit?

Well I thought they had killed him too, and I thought that it was part of the quick re-write they had to do for Todd leaving (and his exit was crap, but at least it was sort of on screen  )

Otherwise, a pretty crappy Christmas episode.

Apparently he is due to kill more people! I think Anna is a definite if she manages to get freedom somehow.

I liked Luke so a bit annoyed he’s dead. When will Pat get his comeuppance?

I read that Luke's death leads to Pat's comeuppance. I've a feeling they'll tie in his exit with Britain's Got Talent live shows and air an event week like they did when Tony Gordon left.
