Do we have any Emmerdale fans in the house?

I've watched it for years, since the plane crash when I was 8 years old and it's always been one of my favourite soaps! I always think they manage to do disasters and deaths really well, they really go for it as opposed to the recent lame efforts by EastEnders and Coronation Street.

My favourite character is Charity at the moment, but the best ever is definately Kim Tate!

Yeah it's only been over the last few years that i've started to watch Emmerdale and I think that it's fab too!

My fave characters are Charity and Chastity - they're a wicked pair lol. I agree with what Thriller said about the producers doing the storylines justice and the actors bring the storylines to life unlike that pathetic shower of non-entities over in Walford at the mo'. IMO anyway! :D

I'm a huge fan!, though I keep missing it lately due to frickin' work!

(Random fact of the day): I was once hanging around with a mate in the park, and I asked him the time, he said 6:55, so I cycled home as quickly as I could so I didn't miss any of Emmerdale, I still don't think I ever lived that one down!

A lot of people find it embarrassing to say they watch Emmerdale because of the stigma it had i.e. farming and old people, but it's definately quality!

I used to watch emmerdale as much as coronation street (which is a LOT, lol), but over the last 2 years i found the story lines and characters getting weaker and weaker, and gradually stopped watching it, and now i haven't seen it in ages. maybe it's got better now, but i just got so fed up with it :-?

Yeah it did go through a patch where the storylines and characters had gotten weak, that was about 2 years ago like you said, but it's since returned to its old form! 8-)

I haven't had much chance to watch this recently, but some of the characters are the best in all of soapland. Charity, Tom King, all of the Dingles, Viv, Sadie.... the list goes on. Chris Tate was the best ever though... and Kim of course.

Awww bless, just makes you more adorable. :P

I just watched the omnibus on ITV2, and ya know...I'm getting into it. :o That said 6 episodes a week is hard to keep up with....but I couldn't stop laughing at Nicola singing The Sun Aint Gonna Shine Anymore. And Viv in a mini-skirt.

Elizabeth Estensen as Diane has been fantastic this last week! They've made the storyline really believable and by using a character like Diane who is hilarious, it's a refreshing change from the likes of Dot and Sunita moping about!

I saw one episode the other day. Nothing special I though, but it is still more believable than Easties

I have only seen Emmerdale twice, once when Ian Botham appeared on it, and the plane crash affair.

I can't wait for 4000th episode, it's going to be the climax to the whole Steph/Shelley storyline, with a wedding in Scotland and one character not coming back alive!

I think Emmerdale keeps going from strength to strength. My fav character is definitely the cold and callous Steph. Thank God Shelly was the one that got pushed off the boat. This week is going to be really exciting since Chloe is going to be caught out for the liar she is.

Zoe stabs Scott with horse drugs next week and puts him in a coma.

Should be some good stuff coming up! I think Emmerdale could be my favourite soap at the moment!
