Not only was Chyna the most important female wrestler of all time, but she was such a prominent figure of the attitude era! Been binging on 1999 lately, and she's everywhere. The summer of 99 was all about HHH getting up the ladder, and she was there every step of the way.

That's why the end of 1999 makes utterly no sense. Even though Chyna was face at No Merch when she won the IC title, she was still in HHH's corner as he defeated Austin in the main event.
The next night, DX regroup and Chyna is never associated with HHH again - never addressed on screen at all. I know it was to set up the Stephanie storyline, but not one single mention of HHH and Chyna parting ways. Or not a single mention of why Chyna wasn't part of this DX reunion. She was a founding member yet nothing.
And then a few weeks later, HHH married Steph, but like I said, no mention of him and Chyna breaking up. She doesn't once comment on the situation.

I know it was like that for convenience sake, but considering they'd been together on screen since 1997, and she was always in his corner through thick and thin, in some of the biggest storylines of the attitude era, it was such an underwhelming ending and of course, the end of Chyna

I just watched HHH become WWF champion for the first time. As soon as Shane (guest ref) counts to 3, the camera pans to Chyna and we see her reaction before we even see HHHs. She was just so important during 1999!

Even though she went on to do great things, like becoming the IC champion and a decent mid-card wrestler in her own right, it was so much better when she was with HHH

You romance her importance.

Before Chyna, Sable was there - and Sable was as big a star as Chyna ever was.

Him and Goldberg in the same match is iconic. Hope there's a Taker/Kane moment too for the nostalgia!

Won't be watching live but will be watching tomorrow - always love the Rumble.

Having it in such a big venue this time will be a bit weird though.

I haven't watched any wrestling since the 1000th episode of Raw in 2012 (and before that I hadn't watched a thing in years), but when I dig out my vintage PS1/PS2 wrestling games every now and then, Royal Rumble mode is always my favorite match to play. :P

It was pretty lame. A few fun shock eliminations of big stars which happened really quickly, but I'm sure people wanted to see Brock vs. Goldberg vs. Taker.

Seems obvious that Brock vs. Goldberg and Taker vs. Reigns will happen at WM

So Wayne, you did not tell me Sable and Jacqueline made it to the HOF... in mad at you

But crying at the same time. Those two we're the first women to have impact during the "attitude era." WWF was looking to make changes to the women's division and they were the starters of it all. In crying!
