I don't understand why the Galaxy Alpha is so **** expensive (~700€) ??? It certainly looks good, but it's not worth that price.

Isn't it in line with an iPhone? For the same storage, what does an iPhone sell for? :-?

I don't have a Samsung phone (I have an iPhone lol), but I DO have a Samsung laptop and I love it :D (yeah I'm sorta dividing my loyalties between the two companies haha!)

I would recommend Samsung's laptops, they're really great! Not too pricey either if you get them on sale - mine was $999 down from $1300!

Alpha is often these days sold for less than Galaxy S5 , iPhone 5C, ... Its price is now decreased to compete with Sony Xperia Z3 Compact.

Apparently Samsung took actions and decreased the selling price of simlocked Alpha to maximize the sale volumes, ...

Based on the figures it has sold well, but nothing extraordinary, thats why samsung is already trying to discontinue it during this quarter to focus more on its new Galaxy range (called as the Galaxy A Series), the new devices A3, A5 & A7 are made entirely from Metal, thus a complete departure from the regular polycarbonate materials in the past.

Alpha was the posterchild of the new designing era in Samsung devices, unfortunately its lifespan was vigorously short but it paved the way for the new samsung designs coming to life.

First batch of Samsung Galaxy J1 details bubble up

Samsung may soon launch a new, entry-level J1 smartphone, according to details obtained by tech site SamMobile.

The Samsung SM-J100 is reportedly slated to feature a 4.3-inch 480x800-pixel display and a 5-megapixel camera. Low end by today's standards, the handset could also feature 1GB RAM with 4GB of internal storage.

Diverging from most Samsung smartphones, the J1 is said to run a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core processor from Marvell. Rounding things out, we might be on the lookout for a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter and an 1,850mAh battery.

S5 was quite good minus its crappy waterproof flap that was a design failure. But s5 mini was beyond crap. Slow, battery hungry and explicitly underperforming.

S6 will be undeniably awesome, but as S6 mini they should look up to Sony on how to come up with a top notch flagship mini device with no comprimises (aka Xperia Z3 Compact)

I think it looks good but what exactly does it change? Its just curved, I don't really see it adding anything to the phone. Nice looking though. And yes, expensive. To be honest, I'm more looking forward to Galaxy S6, it looks erally good, and is going to be quite sleek at under 7mm. Look more like an iPhone than an iPhone 6. 8-)

Intersting how this will fare in the market, or have they lost their hey-days? The phone looks like any other Chinese manufacturer phone, the problem they face is design but it's much better than the S5 for sure, a design failure

The S6 series are just amazing and flawless in every aspect... Except for the fact that it lacks the water protection :(

Such loss of feature made a bad dilemma for me to buy it or not at this point :(

You're sold even with horrendous TouchWiz? That alone keeps me away from Samsung, even though I bought their first Bada phone - Wave, when it came out.
Also, the fact that the prices of their flagship drop more than 40% within 3 months is something that keeps me away. For example, if I buy it for 700 Euros now, in 3 months, I would be able to buy it for 400-500 Euros, which automatically devalues my phone for resale.
