Hi there!
I'm an old fat lazy bloke from Lithuania. My name is Undercover. I'm gonna post here my personal charts, created between November 1982 and January 1996.
I would never have done that, but I was encouraged to do that by my few friends from UKMix.
There will be nothing special or extraordinary in my charts, just a young person's desire to be free. I was 20 when I started that. Please note, that my the charts were created at the real time, while living under the iron curtain. Some of my entries looks bit stupid for me today, but I swear - I haven't changed anything. Let everything remains as it was.
My sources, influences and the first chart coming soon. :)

You may ask me: If you was living under the iron curtain and all the information was blocked, what were your sources?
Source #1 - BBC World Service. They broadcasted an adapted version of UK Top 40 singles chart each monday. That was The BBC World Service Top 20. In a 30 min. programme they played all the new entries, some of the climbers and #1. Also they did a brief countdown of Top 10 albums in the UK. I had a 2 tape desk portable recorder and used to record these programmes on the cassettes.
Source #2 - Radio Luxembourg. They had their own 208 Top 30 chart which was very similar to the Official UK charts, also a 6 hours of music every night.
Source #3 - My own albums. If you had 4-5 original albums, you could share them with your friends, who had their own albums and so on and on and on. The only thing you had to do after that - to make a mixtapes to your tapes or cassettes.
So, if your rest will be damaged by a drunk immigrants from Eastern Europe, do not rush to call the police. Better call the Sir Paul McCartney's secretariat and tell him that he is responsible for all that.

"Eye Of The Tiger" is probably my favourite song from that year. "The Day Before You Came" is one of ABBA's most underrated songs.

Some good new entries, I like "Jack & Diane", "Who Can It Be Now" and "I Don't Wanna Dance".
The MJ/ Paul McCartney duet however is quite weak, their other collab "Say Say Say" is much better.
I prefer the 2003 remake of "Mad World" to the original version by Tears For Fears.

Today I wonder why I liked Adam Ant so much. Perhaps because I was hooked on the British electropop/new romantics acts. They looked so modern and were breaking all pop standards. :)

Thanks for kind words, navi. :)

As for Year End Charts... Unfortunately, I must upset you. You know, people like me can clearly remember, what music they were listening some 30 years ago and can't remember what they were listening 3 months ago. I have stopped creating my personal charts long time ago and without them it would be extremely difficult to make a significant and objective Year End Chart.

As for the retro charts... Yes, I'm visiting them periodically and constantly and I'm glad I can find there some jewels I haven't heard before.
Maybe I'll join you, but,to be honest, I can't fully understand the rules of the game.

It's not difficult. You chose your top 12 songs. Every week, there are new entries that you can add, and a list of songs that you can no longer vote for (songs that fall out because they don't have enough points or they retire because they have been on the countdown for too long).
