It's finally happenin' again! My favourite season of the year has officially kicked off with the release of the compilation of this year's Eurovision Song Contest. To be honest, I haven't been a fan of this year's entries at the beginnin' but the studio versions made me like or even love them more. "Start A Fire" is my favourite by miles. It's a beautifully written & heartbroken ballad sung with a stunning vocal performance. The Polish entry - which topped my chart this week - is an attempt to combine contemporary hip-hop music with folklore elements and I really think that it's a brilliant mixture. Of course, you'll get to listen to utterly horrendous and cheap entries as well. You'll find some guilty pleasures (e.g. that wannabe Loreen by Tanja (not only the song is quite similar to "Euphoria" & "Glorious", but also her dance moves totally remind one's of Loreen's glorious "Euphoria" performance) or that hilarious copies of Robin Thicke (Belarus) and Bruno Mars (Denmark) - Cheesy tracks cannot be left out either (Sweden, San Marino, Austria)... However, this is what I absolutely adore about the Eurovision Song Contest. Each year we'll get a light entertainment programme with tracks for each and every different person with an individual taste in music! Oh, and I love it how bright and shiny this competition is! - Love it that Akini has become a fan of it as well. Era's next! <3
The semi-finals will be aired on 6th and 8th May, whereas you can see the grand-final in which 26 countries will be competing to be the next Loreen, Lena or Emmelie on 10th May!
My Słowianie - We Are Slavic (Poland) // Start A Fire (Azerbaijan) // Undo (Sweden) // Wild Soul (Moldova) // La Mia Città (Italy) // Children Of The Universe (United Kingdom) // Amazing (Estonia) // Coming Home (Malta) // Cheescake (Belarus) // Rise Up (Greece) // Calm After The Storm (The Netherlands) // Silent Storm (Norway) // Round And Round (Slovenia)

Really? Which Russian song are you talkin' about?
Ah okay, good to hear thatMainshow wrote:I had known Nightwish before, I even loved "Sleeping Sun"'s revamped version and I was a fan of "Once" but I wouldn't have called myself a fan back then.
It's quite a surprise that I turned to be a fan with Madame Olzon, although I think that I prefer Tarja to her now... However, I need to check Olzon's solo stuff (perhaps I'm goin' to like it) but Eurovision entries are keepin' me busy these days
Thank you & Dankeschön für das herzliche Willkommen zurückTansike wrote:Am i dreaming? Or is this really happening?
Really glad you're back here, the personal charts section missed you so much!
Interesting number one. I guess i need to re-listen to it but from what i remember it's one of the weaker songs from "All This Bad Blood"...
Impressive chartrun for "Calm After The Storm" Have you checked out their album? It's good! Also interesting to see Coldplay in the Top3.
Queen Helene still doing so good after all this time surprises me. The song somehow got old fast for me But it's still better than everything i ever expected from someone like Helene!
"And We Run" also in the Top10 damn you're stanning more for this song than me It's a shame the song never was a success outside ukmix charts, at least an entry in their homecountry Netherlands should have been possible At least we appreciate that gem!
@ "Marathon"'s chartrun!!! That's another impressive and even more impressive than "Atemlos"'s chartrun! It never really got me and i prefer other songs from the album so i'm actually surprised it did that good on your charts. Finally, your love for that terrible ESC song has to come to an end my dear
So overall a good week, excited to see the upcoming weeks
Thank you Just got interested in Coldplay's latest album. It's a shame that "Atlas" is not included as a bonus track, though. - "Haunted" is fierce. It's my favourite track after DILMostFierce wrote:great achievements for A Sky Full of Stars, and wow Haunted entered at #7, is this going to have better peak
Thank you - It should have won the whole contest...LionH3art wrote:Oh my your obsession with Calm After the Storm is just fantastic. <3
Time will tell... but I already consider this track to be better than that annoying "Summer" accidentAlicepotter wrote:19 [NE] 1 "Blame (feat. John Newman)" by Calvin Harris
