Yes, it is full of heart and easy to connect to. I think he writes beautiful ballads in general.

OK. #Blush. Hope you weren't put off too much. It's a mix of 50/50 Hot Pop Country and Alternative/Americana/Independent/Texas Country.

I've just seen the 1st page with the new banners, love them! how do you do that thing with the pic on the side and then the whole thing extended across to have room for the words? I'm such an amateur

also noticed you don't have Kate Bush here, are you not a fan? not saying you have to be, but considering Fiona, Bjork, Tori & co. are here I'd automatically expect Kate lumped together :D

I do them in powerpoint, so I am amateur too! Some of them end up nice, others terrible but I just can't do them better. The key is to find a picture with a single color background, then it is easy to copy part of that background and axpand it

I LOVE Aerial, but to be honest, it is the only thing I have from Kate. Some of the songs presented in different survivors failed to impress me though.

Thanks!

I am doing in alphabetical order, so I am afraid I am entering a "pop" period that you won't enjoy that much

After Lenny is Lisa Loeb's turn, a pop folk singer that I love, then Madonna/Mariah, which you'll hate

BONUS TRACK - LENNY's TOP ALBUMS

10. It Is Time For A Love Revolution (2008) - My rating: 73.4
Image
Lenny generally releass good sets, but in this case, at points, seems like an incomplete effort to me. Some good songs, with the beautiful I'll Be Waiting.

9. Lenny (2001) - My rating: 73.8
Image
This album came after the amazing 5 and the strong Greatest Hits pack, so had a difficult task ahead. I like it but comparing to the previous albums, this sounded a little uninspired.

8. Black and White America (2011) - My rating: 73.9
Image
After Stand was released, I thought this album was going to be his best ever. The title and the sound seemed promising. It turned out just fine.

7. Baptism (2004) - My rating: 74.0
Image
Starting with Lenny, his albums seem to be made with a "paint by numbers" pattern. A good formula but eventually lacks the surprising point. Only B&W America managed to surprise me a little but not enough to stand out from the rest. His career's first half is much better than his second!

6. Strut (2014) - My rating: 75.2
Image
Strut was hot and fun! A good step.

5. Let Love Rule (1989) - My rating: 75.4
Image
A very interesting debut album.

4. Are You Gonna Go My Way (1993) - My rating: 76.8
Image
His 90s era is golden, and this album is part of it. The first half of the album is amazing.

3. Circus (1995) - My rating: 77.5
Image
Ok, following AYGGMW was taough job to do, and Circus was even better!

2. Mama Said (1991) - My rating: 78.9
Image
His sophomore effort is hot as fire. Always on the run is probably his best lyrics to date. And It Ain's Over... is ecstasy.

1. 5 (1998) - My rating: 79.2
Image
Such a fantastic album! Some rock gems mixed with a sexy R&B flavour. Creative peak.

How I Met... Lenny Kravitz
I was not very into his music to be honest, but by mid 90s I was intrigued by him because of his previous collab with Madonna. My brother had some of his albums, but I wouldn't click with them so gave up on him. But when 5 appeared, I was addicted to it! I stole my brother's copy and played it almost everyday for some time. When the GH was released I bought it and realized he had a strong discography. Only then I revisited his older stuff and loved it.

I'll have to try some of your fave albums (unless you suggest one of them which would be more to my taste), never been that keen on him though tbh.

Well, as much as I like him, I think you'll find him too... safe, if that makes any sense. Probably his first 3 albums will have a little more impact.

The Top 2 songs are phenomenal. I was checking his Wiki and I didn't know he won a Grammy category four years in a row!
