My favourite Avril album track and from the looks of it by a far margin. I love Losing Grip but I think this really should have been the 4th single. Right after I'm With You, this would have done miles better and it is an album seller. Partly the reason this song is so high is because the whole song so god damn catchy, it just all flows so well. The melody is everything. The message behind the song is great too, it's about when you're so love with someone but you just don't want to make a move in case you lose them forever. My favourite part is probably the lyrics in the chorus "If I could say what I want to see, I want to see you go down on one knee, Marry me today"
Y'all thought this one would win by the looks of the poll. This is not my favourite Avril song but it is definitely close to it. This song was hit but that's not good enough for me, this song should have been a WW smash!! While it's not my favourite and I can totally appreciate why it would be someone else's. My sister hates Avril but she loves this song, that just shows how incredible it is. The video, although quite simple fits the song perfectly and love how everything is in slow motion. (Although it is hilarious watching the behind the scenes video as Avril had to lip sync the song twice as fast so it could be slowed down ) Avril's vocals are so stunning that this might be the song where her voice shines the brightest. The song itself is beautifully written and some lyrics in-particular are amazing - "Cause nothing's going right
and everything's a mess, and no one likes to be alone". My favourite parts are basically any section where her vocals make you think **** The end of the bridge where she is like YEAH YEYYYA and the incredible notes in the final chorus "IM WITH YOUUUUUU"
.Underrated. Typical that out of Avril's lead singles this is the one that no one seems to remember. Strangely enough I can understand why some people will be confused how this is so high because it is difficult to explain why I love this song so much especially compared to some of her other tracks but there is just something about this song that I totally adore. Part of the reason I love this song so much is that every time I watch the video it reminds me of when I was little I saw it playing on one of the music channels. Such a nostalgic feeling. The verses are absolute perfection, the first one in-particular. The lyrics are so simple but I just love them. "You held my hand and walked me home, I know. When you gave me that kiss it was something like this it made me go ooh ooh". The chorus is incredible and the melody of the song makes me want to listen to it over and over again. Love the message of the song too "DON'T TRY TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO, DON'T TRY TO TELL ME WHAT TO SAY"
.We have finally made it And now you know what my all time favourite Avril song is. It is the underrated gem that is Nobody's Home. If I could pick any song to smash it would be this one. This song is so god damn beautiful that it angers me its not very well known. The video is one of my favourite Avril has ever done. She looks stunning in the sepia scenes with the orchestra and parts where she plays the homeless girl are really heartbreaking especially the ending scene where she looks into the camera, a tear falls down her cheek and she slowly walks away into the distance. Incredible. The message of the song itself is really upsetting and something many people don't realise is that this song was wrote by Avril about one of her close friends making it very personal. The start of the song with the distant guitar is unreal and then it starts to fade in. Avril's vocals are unbelievable and very mature. The melody of the chorus is epic. The bridge is simply amazing. "SHES FALLING FROM GRACE, SHES ALL OVER THE PLACE". The songwriting ability on this song is something to be reckoned with, every single lyric is like wow. "She wants to go home, but nobody's home, that's where she lies broken inside.
