NF's Top albums through the years (2011)

It's been awhile since I attempted a chart here. Instead of some massive all time chart, I'm actually going year by year since every year has offered so much to the world of music.

I'm starting with 1966 since to me, that's where my collection really begins because before that, its mostly Beatles and the odd Stones album. To me, 1966 was where the album as an artform really began to take flight and more and more great artists started delivering masterworks.

As the years progress, I will count down more albums as there are more albums in later years I'm versed on.

This is a good album, not their best but it's solid! 1968 will be a tough year to rank.

#3 is beautiful, a few filler-ish ones but some amazing songs too.

#4 is one I should try sooner or later.

Aftermath isn't a be-all end-all album but if you enjoy early (pre-1968) Stones singles and want a decent album from the period before they became heavier and more album-oriented, it's a decent record. The US editions of their early albums are superior because the singles on them are amazing.

Revolver is good! Pet Sounds is great, perfect #1! 8-) I love the innocence and the young feeling on the album.

Revolver and Pet Sounds was very neck and neck, I ultimately gave Pet Sounds the edge because I do like it slightly better, plus The Beatles get enough love (deservedly so) anyways.
