Welcome to my personal chart. The chart consists of 40 songs which are my top songs of that week, and 20 albums which I have listened to most. I have been keeping the chart since January 1st 2015, and I've decided to bring it here at the start of 2016. The charts will be released on Thursdays, and will be consisted of my favourite/most listened to songs of the last week.

2016 Week #1: 7th January
This week's chart only features two new entries, the first of which is the incredibly underrated 'You're Good But I'm Better' by Kill J. Having heard the song this week, I've been captivated by the Robyn-esque vocals, and the swirling synths. The song makes it's debut at 24, becoming her first top thirty hit. Our second new entry ('Your Type' by Carly Rae Jepsen' becomes her third top twenty hit off of her latest album, and looks set to follow in the footsteps of the other successful singles. The song debuts just outside of the top ten at eleven.

Within the top five, Bryson Tiller's first chart hit 'Don't' officially climbs to number one from number two in it's thirteenth week: a record for longest time taken to reach number one. Last week's number one ('Hands to Myself') falls to number two after three weeks at number one, and Carrie Underwood's fourth top twenty single 'Heartbeat' officially becomes her second top three single from 'Storyteller'. The Tinashe assisted 'All my Friends' falls one place, with Carly Rae Jepsen's other chart entry 'Run Away with Me' which now charts at number five.

Notable climbs this week also include SZA's Julia, which has climbed two places to number six, and Lovato's Stone Cold which has climbed to number seven: impressive considering the lack of success of her last two singles. 'Renegades' (also X Ambassadors first major hit), manages to climb two places from fourteen to twelve, and 'Light it Up', becomes Major Lazer's most successful single since their number one with Ariana Grande: 'All My Love'. The song climbs five places to nineteen.

Great chart, so many tracks i like / love!

"Light It Up" will make its entry on my charts this week as well, but the remix still has to grow on me more as i still prefer the original version.
Glad to see all those entries for Selena. So you're a fan of her? :)

Also good to see the two songs by Ariana made your charts (last week).

Thank you! Yeah, I love Selena. I remember her Kiss & Tell album was one of the first albums I was obsessed with, and I never really lost the love. I think Revival's amazing and think the future singles will do well. I love Ariana too, I saw her live last year and she was amazing!

Oh that's great and it's the same with me  (especially when it comes to pop albums)
Glad to hear that about Ariana. She didn't visit Switzerland on her tour, otherwise i would've attend her concert as well :(

Great debut for Zara Larsson. "Lush Life" is such a good feel-good pop track and i'm glad she's so successful lately. Can't wait for her album!

2016 Week #3: 21st January

This week's chart features five new entries from: Sevyn Streeter, Adele, Laura Mvula, Kanye West and Troye Sivan. All five songs entered the top thirty. The highest new entry was Streeter's remix of Tory Lanez' song 'Say It' which hasn't impacted upon these charts. The song becomes her second song to debut at the position of number two, the other being her Chris Brown duet 'It Won't Stop'. At five is Adele's 'All I Ask', her seventh top five, and second from the '25' album. Laura Mvula's 'Overcome' with Nile Rodgers becomes her second top twenty single after 'Green Garden' peaked at number one in 2013. West and Kendrick's song becomes West's sixth top twenty single, becoming the highest charting so far, also, off of his upcoming album. Troye Sivan also scores his third top thirty single with 'Touch'.

Elsewhere on the chart, 'All My Friends' remains at number one, whilst Ciara's 'Oh Baby' climbs into the top three, becoming her sixth top three single. Bieber's 'Love Yourself' remains stable at six, and could possibly climb to become his seventh top five single, and the first off of 'Purpose'. Carly Rae Jepsen's latest single 'Your Type' climbs into the top ten, becoming her third consecutive number one, and fourth total. Ruth B's 'Lost Boy' climbs to seventeen, and 'Hollow' climbs to nineteen, becoming B's first, and Kelly's second top twenty hit (after 'Shoulda Been Us' went to number one in 2015). Selena Gomez's 'Same Old Love' is officially certified diamond this week, becoming one of only six to be certified based off of chart points, and her third total including presumptive certifications (after 'The Heart Wants What It Wants', and 'Love You Like a Love Song').

Hello that bad? :o :( :P
It's actually one of the best performing songs on the charts over this year, and last. I think because I played it so much it's kind of slipped down the charts but it climbed eight places this week so that's a good sign!

"Youth" is definitely a good choice for Troye's next single, so good debut for him. Hopefully a hit :)

LOVE that cert for "Same Old Love"! :o

I actually find "Youth" as anthemic as "Wild", so we could possibly see another top ten hit!

I accidentally put "Same Old Love" but it's meant to be "Good For You". "Same Old Love" is currently 4x Platinum.

In case anyone was wondering, the certifications of charted songs are based off of a points score (number one = 1 point, number two = 0.80 etc, until number 40 is 0.01). The certification thresholds are: Gold = 1 point, Platinum = 2 points, 2x Platinum = 4 points, 3x Platinum = 6 points, 4x Platinum = 8 points, and Diamond = ten points. Currently only six songs have reach diamond that have charted. These being "Feeling Myself" by Nicki Minaj and Beyonce; "I Bet" by Ciara; "Truffle Butter" by Nicki Minaj, Drake and Lil Wayne; "Bitch Better Have My Money" by Rihanna; "Flawless" by Beyonce and Nicki Minaj; and "Good for You" by Selena Gomez and A$AP Rocky.

Songs that charted before 2015, when I began charting again after losing all the previous charts (I recovered the peak positions and date of the peaking), are certified based off of number of plays!

I know you didn't ask but I took this as a good opportunity to explain.

I will begin to post album certifications as well, I'm content not posting album charts, but here is how album certifications work.

Albums will earn points based off of how many times they are listened to (one full album play is worth between 0.15-0.25 dependent on how many tracks there are). The total singles points of an album are then divided by twenty and added onto the album. For example, Selena Gomez's 'Revival' is certified seven times platinum with 7.40 listening points, but due to the total of 29.48 single points, the total now becomes 8.84. This allows albums with extremely strong singles to perform better.

Certifications work like regular American certifications (Gold = 0.50, Platinum -= 1, Multi Platinum = the amount of times platinum, Diamond = 10).

2016 Week #3: 21st January

With seven new entries within the top twenty, it seems the last week has been a great week for new music releases, with four being in the top five. K. Michelle’s latest track off of her upcoming album debuts at number one. The song is her fifth consecutive number one, which breaks the tie with Selena Gomez, for her to regain her position at number two (behind Nicki Minaj with seven). Despite only being released yesterday, the Drake assisted ‘Work’ debuts within the top three due to the excessive plays it received today and yesterday. The song is Rihanna’s 19th top five single, and 14th top three. It’s also her second consective number one after last year’s ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ spent two weeks at the top spot. At number three is Tinashe’s latest Soundcloud release, featuring Juicy J. ‘Energy’ becomes her seventh top three single: an impressive feat considering she has only released one studio album, with only the promotional single 'Bet' and her latest offering 'Player' charting lower. AlunaGeorge’s latest offering becomes their sixth consecutive top five single. The Popcaan assisted single is more dancehall oriented (much like Rihanna’s ‘Work’), than their previous singles, which may be an indicator for their future work. StooShe’s Lock Down debuts just outside of the top five at seven, becoming their seventh consecutive top ten single with Fleur East’s ‘More and More’ debuting at ten, becoming her second consecutive top ten. Lapsley’s follow up to her debut number one single (‘Hurt Me’) becomes her second top twenty single. ‘Love is Blind’ seems to be a promising follow up.

Elsewhere, last week’s number one: ‘All My Friends’ falls to number six, and the number two single slides two places to ‘Say It’. Due to the influx of new releases, many well performing songs have fell on the charts (Gomez’s ‘Hands to Myself’ 4-8, Ciara’s ‘Oh Baby’ 3-9, Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’ 6-11, Bryson Tiller’s ‘Don’t’ 8-17, Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Your Type’ 9-21 and Adele’s ‘All I Ask’ 5-14).

The only new peak this week comes from Troye Sivan’s ‘Youth’, which moves up two from 29-27. Due to the success of ‘Smoke Break’ and ‘Heartbeat’, ‘Storyteller’ is Underwood’s third best singles era behind ‘Blown Away’, and ‘Some Hearts’. With a third single it’s likely to overtake the former. Similarly, due to ‘I Bet’ and ‘Dance Like We’re Making Love’s success, ‘Jackie’ becomes her third most successful album era behind her first two albums. The reasoning for the low overall single era success (despite strong individual performance), is rooted behind the lack of singles released. However, Gomez’s ‘Revival has officially become her most successful era, as a solo artist and with The Scene. ‘Revival’ overtakes ‘When the Sun Goes Down’ to claim the title.

• Woah, lovin' that Top 2 debut for "Work" (work work work work)...and with only a day's worth of plays! It was gettin' some hate in its thread over in the Urban/R&B section, so I'm glad to see somebody else find it as immediately infectious as me!
• Awesome Top 10 debut for "More"! "Sax" was catchy, but I definitely like this one...well...more  The 80's-Whitney-throwback-vibes are irresistible.
• It always warms my heart to see Queen Carly on any chart...and she's even here twice! E•MO•TION was probably...definitely...my favorite album of 2015. She's such an under-rated pop gem!

Excellent chart :D Glad you decided to start posting it here!

Thank you! I honestly love 'Work' but I'm expecting 'Pillow Talk' to possibly block the number one spot! It's a shame that it's been blocked by two artists I love.
I really like Fleur's new track, it really is a Whitney-esque track, which I'm always here for.
You should expect a decent 'All That' debut, I loved the YouTube Space LA performance, so seeing as it's a (possibly promo) single it's now eligible!
