10. Twenty One Pilots - Heathens // Suicide Squad
9. Action Bronson - Standing In The Rain // Suicide Squad
8. Rihanna - Sledgehammer // Star Trek Beyond

I enjoyed these three tracks but they don't add much to the scenery.

7. Ellie Goulding - Still Falling For You // Bridget Jones' Baby
6. Pink - Just Like Fire // Alice Through The Looking Glass
5. Imagine Dragons - Not Today // Me Before You

Three cool pop songs that I find myself singing every once in a while.

4. Florence & The Machine - Stand By Me // Final Fantasy XV
Florence delivers an amazing rendition of this classic. Love how she made it her own.

3. BRONZE MEDAL: Mogwai - Ether // Atom
A very intense instrumental soundtrack.

2. SILVER MEDAL: Shakira - Try Everything // Zootopia
Shakira knows how to do it. The lyrics are nice, it should have been bigger.

1. GOLD MEDAL: Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling // Trolls
Instant song, the kind of song you listen to and know it will be a hit. And the Oscars show highlighted the carefree and fun side of it.

Image

10. 1975 - The Sound
I love the colours and think it is effective in its message.

9. Coldplay - Adventure Of A Lifetime
Yep, even a monkey will dance to this. Well done.

8. De La Soul feat. Snoop Dogg - Pain
No groundbreaking, but it fits the retro sound of De La Soul.

7. Avalanches - Because I'm Me
A sweet video that catches my attention.

6. Imany - Silver Lining (Clap Your Hands)
A beautiful song and a cheerful video.

5. Alle Farben feat. YOUNOTUS - Please Tell Rosie
My heart bleeds whenever I see the child expression at the beginning. Touching.

4. Dawid Podsiadlo - Pastempomat
Great video, simple but soooo effective. Love the wierdness of it.

3. BRONZE MEDAL: Chemical Brothers feat. Beck - Wide Open
I tend to love the simple "guy/girl dancing" kind of videos... although they are everywhere since Chandelier. This is a cool approach and fits the song.

2. SILVER MEDAL: David Bowie - Blackstar
Everything is superb. I think it is amongst the best videos of all time.

1. GOLD MEDAL: Beyoncé - Formation
The whole Lemonade project deserves Video of the Year. She even improved herself after Self-titled.

Image

10. Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa & Imagine Dragons w/ Logic & Ty Dolla $ign feat. X Ambassadors - Sucker For Pain
9. Kenny Chesney feat. Pink - Setting The World On Fire
8. Weeknd feat. Daft Punk - Starboy
7. Janet Jackson feat. Missy Elliott - BURNITUP!
6. James Blake feat. Bon Iver - I Need A Forest Fire
5. De La Soul feat. Damon Albarn - Here In After
4. Cyndi Lauper feat. Alison Krauss - Hard Candy Christmas

3. BRONZE MEDAL: Coldplay & Beyoncé - Hymn For The Weekend

2. SILVER MEDAL: Chemical Brothers feat. Beck - Wide Open

1. GOLD MEDAL: Beyoncé feat. Jack White - Don't Hurt Yourself

Without a doubt, the amazing collab between Bey and Jack takes the gold medal. Both of them outside of their comfort zone for me but still flawlessly merging power.

Image

10. BØRNS
9. Gallant
8. Jack Garratt
7. Billie Marten
6. Aubrie Sellers
5. Jon Bellion
4. Troye Sivan

3. BRONZE MEDAL: Shura

2. SILVER MEDAL: Lion Babe

1. GOLD MEDAL: Laurence Fox

I think all of them have a lot of potential and will deliver gold medal material in a future. Laurence released a very solid album and his Chris Martin's style cought up my attention. It will be a problem in a future if he doesn't evolve from that, but this year he was my fav. Very good year for new artists all in all.

I don't really comment much but I try to tune in once in a while.
Great effort! Must say that I'm not too familiar with 90's Country but it's always great when Alabama, Sawyer Brown and Travis Tritt are acknowledged. And wow, have you seen all those mullets! :D Confederate Railroad is fantastic!

Thanks trebor!
I started this last year and i am really fond of it although i know this is not really something many others will follow! But it is a great register of music from my years. I already have some years done, right now I am listening to 2017 but next will be 1995, and my plan for this year is to publish here 1992/1993/1994 and then 2017. Ill finish in 20 years lol
Nothingfails did something similar and this is kind of my version of it.

thanks for always be supportive! u r one of a kind!

(Aww!) 8-)
I like the idea of a music journal very much! In ten years (etc.) from now, you will be glad you created these moments in time.
(Personally, I wouldn't know where and how to start)
As far as I'm concerned, you inspired me to go to listen to Tori Amos (listened to "Crucify" which is great), House Of Pain and review the Beastie Boys! :D

3 PJ Harvey - Dress
Best alternative album (my version)
1Hunters & Collectors - Cut
2 Shakespear's Sister - Hormonally Yours (I consider this to be an alternative/pop crossover album, but it has some gothic rock, indie pop elements in it)
3 The Cure - Wish
Best dance/electronic
1 Erasure - Love To Hate You
2 The Prodigy - Everybody in the Place
3 Snap! - Rhythm Is A Dancer
Best dance/electronic album (my version)

one question (me again  )
how can multi million selling corporate act be alternative (and to whom)?

1992 was in the terms of quality and quantity one of the best years ever for alter/indie music
(first releases for Radiohead - Creep and Suede - the Drowners)
a few truly alternative from that year
The Breeders - Safari
Drop Nineteens - My Aquarium
Pain Teens - Shallow Hole

My favourite (semi) dance/electronic song of 1992
New Fast Automatic Daffodils - Stockholm

btw PJ Harvey's Dress is 1991

i use Wikipedia's articles "Albums released in XXXX" as a basis to listen and track albums

then Alt and Rock are going to be controvertial each year because i find it hard to differentiate those sometimes

And for me Alt does not mean non mainstream. In 90s alt was everywhere.

indie are generally categorized by me as Alt

My eligibility timeframe is oct 91 - sep 92 and always oct-sep

Checked the links, good but wouldn't highlight them but i am a little too mainstream, i know that
