Week 13
Image

I'm back! God, I miss doing this chart so much! But now the site that generates my weekly top tracks is working so I shall be able to continue this thread.
PS: I decide to stick to the positions songs obtained ON MY TOP 50 ONLY. Why? cos' I don't like the way last. fm does things. So if a song achieved the top spot on the lists I posted on the UKMIX Parade before September, 18, said position as well as ithe weeks the song spent in there will not count towards my top 50.

COMMENTARY
Donna Lewis manages to get a second week at the top. Her track is so gentle, relaxing. I hate the fact that Macarena stopped this silly love song to get to number 1. At least she managed to get said number 1 here, I guess. I Love You Always Forever is the perfect Fall song to me. After all, Christmas is getting near and we really need a song that helps transitioning from fast dance gems (summer) to a slow tempo, traditional gems (christmas). This song is the "in between".
But Mrs. Lewis may find some serious competition from Alarm by british singer Anne Marie. I really don't know why I like this track so much. Maybe is the production. Either way, I find myself enjoying this song.
If A Song Could Get Me You by norwegian girl Marit Larsen was the "perfect Fall song" before THE "perfect Fall song". It still really nice to listen to and has the pretty standard message of "I would do anything for you to notice me". Her voice is like honey to me; so freaking sweet!
Other than that, is worth commenting that In My Mind by Maty Noyes jumps from #10 to #7 solely based on the hook, Avril Lavigne falls off the top 10 (7 - 12) , meaning that Complicated is her biggest flop on my charts by a mile, Rebecca Black enters said top 10 with her comeback single The Great Divide (12 - 8) , her first top 10 hit since Friday and Selena Gomez performs what may be the biggest gain in te history of my chart going from the very bottom to top 15. What song you may ask? Kill Em With Kindness (50 - 14)! Not even I was expecting that!!!

Good you're back

Don't know your #1, i have to check it out...
But i love Marit Larsen's song! That track was a huge success back when it was released over here. A shame she never scored another charts hit.

Also nice to see Rebecca Black's new single. This is such an unexpected great song. Would love to see this doing something on the charts... :(
Fantastic climb for Selena Gomez' "Kill Em With Kindness", and good to see Avril Lavigne, Zara Larsson, Britney Spears, Tove Lo, Ariana Grande, MO, Shakira, Rachel Platten, Selena Gomez' "Same Old Love" and Fifth Harmony charting all as well, really like them all :D

Week 14

Image
(What do you think of this image?)

Commentary
Donna Lewis managed to get enough plays to hold on to the top spot, blocking "Alarm" from getting there. The question now is: is it possible for the "90's Ellie Goulding" to be the first artist to stay four weeks atop since Gwen Stefani's "Make Me Like You"? We'll see...
It's also worth mentioning that Rebecca Black continues to gain and arises at #4. Last, Marit Larsen seems to be the new "Final Song" as it keeps its top 5 status because of,... Lack of competition, I think.
This is What You Came For by Calvin Harris featuring Rihanna (10 - 18), Remains of The Day by the Corpse Bride cast (9 - 17) and Send It by Austin Mahone featuring Rich Homie Quan (5 - 11) leave the top 10 as this week's new entries replace them.
Nor One More Night by Maroon 5 or In My Mind by Maty Noyes moved this week.

FUN FACTS
    Complicated continues to flop (12 - 20);
    Shakira is gaining momentum as all of her charting songs went up (Plus: she has one re-entry);
A song (a rendition of Lovefool by Postmodern Jukebox) achieves its eleventh week on the chart, the longest so far.

Week 15

Commentary
In a BUSY week, "I Love You Always Forever" becomes the first song ever since "Make Me Like You" (back in May 2) to stay four weeks at the top. It's surprising ,actually, because in the past seven days "The Great Divide" was the most played track. But I'm guessing the system wanted poor Donna Lewis to have a long reign just so they could make up for the fact that the freaking Macarena stopped this song from being #1 in 1996.
"The Great Divide" rises to number 2 while two songs make their top 5 debut: "London Bridge" by Fergie (Guilty pleasure! Don't act like you don't have one!!!) and the soothing EDM song "Carry Me" by Kygo.
Shakira decided to pull a "Kill Em With Kindness" on everyone with her song "Loba" (50 - 8), Final Song demonstrates some EXCELLENT longevity as it re-enters the top 10 at #9 while the presumed flop "Complicated" reappears at #10 (The latter is expected to rise next week because, out of the blue, I rediscovered my Avril Lavigne luv!).
Lastly, we got eighteen dropouts... WOW!

Wow, two great increases for Selena's "Kill Em With Kindness" and Shakira's "Loba" - two great songs that deserve the success 8-)

Also nice debut for "Problem", definitely one of Ariana's best singles to date :)

Thank you for taking even just the smallest part of your time to comment on my chart every week. I should reciprocate such a effort now that I think about it.

There are some nice songs in your charts. It's especially great to see Avril's 'Complicated' in your Top 10.

Great to see two songs by Lily Allen in your charts. :D I hope they'll manage to get in your Top 50.

And I'm happy that Avril is your new number one.

Great #1 :D

Also nice to see Avril getting another entry in the Top10, Britney's "If U Seek Amy" climbing and J.Lo's "On The Floor" re-entering :)

There are some great tunes on the bubbling under list by Selena Gomez, Lily Allen, David Guetta, P!nk and The Weeknd :D

Yeah, great #1! :D I can't remember the last time I saw it at #1 on any type of chart (although I haven't looked that hard, and of course not included the top 5 you already posted in the UKMixParade thread ;)). It was #1 on my chart for six weeks, 14 and a half years ago. It was my favourite Avril Lavigne song until finally succeeded by "Hush Hush" in 2013.

I also like these:

2. 1 I Love You Always Forever – Donna Lewis
4. 3 Alarm – Anne Marie
5. 2 The Great Divide (Crash Cove Remix) – Rebecca Black I strongly prefer the original version though.
6. re-entry Sk8er Boi – Avril Lavigne
14. 9 Final Song – MO
18. 12 Kill Em With Kindness – Selena Gomez
19. 13 The Sign – Ace of Base
27. 29 Just The Girl – The Click Five
41. 33 Absolutely (Story Of A Girl) – Nine Days
48. new My Happy Ending – Avril Lavigne
50. re-entry On The Floor – Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull I strongly prefer the Pitbull-free version.

Hips Don't Lie by Shakira
Beautiful by Christina Aguillera
Better Off Alone by Alice Deejay
If A Song Could Get Me You by Marit Larsen
One More Night by Maroon 5

05. Alan Walker — Sing me to Sleep
09. Selena Gomez — Hands to Myself
12. Vanessa Paradis — Joe le taxi

Very interesting chart overall!

NEWSFLASH
I will TRY to give my songs certifications from now on.
Here's how it is gonna work:
[*] If a song manages to spend 5 weeks on the TOP 50, it gets certified Gold (Most songs don't last that much on my chart so this makes sense)
[*] If a song manages to get 10 weeks on the TOP 50, it gets certified Platinum

So here are the certifications as of now:

Platinum
Postmodern Jukebox - Lovefool
MO - Final Song
Eva Simons - Policeman

Gold
Britney Spears - If U Seek Amy (9 weeks)
Gwen Stefani - Make Me Like You (9 weeks)
Zara Larsson - Lush Life (9 weeks)
MIKA - Popular Song (9 weeks)
Connie Francis - Stupid Cupid (9 weeks)
Calvin Harris - This Is What You Came For (9 weeks)
Loni Lovato - Secret (8 weeks)
Ludwig Van Beethoven - Ode to Joy (8 weeks)
Rihanna - Work (7 weeks)
Fifth Harmony - Work From Home (7 weeks)
Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone (7 weeks)
Johann Strauss - The Blue Danube (6 weeks)
to be continued...
Most weeks at #1: Gwen Stefani - Make Me Like You
Highest peaking classical music piece: Beethoven - Ode to Joy

(Still waiting for your album, Avril!)

Week 17
Commentary
Avril continues to slay as Complicated spends a second week atop, plus Sk8ter Boi enters the top 5. I Love You Always Forever is taking its sweet time, dropping one position per week. Who overtakes the #2 spot is Astrud Gilberto and her bossa nova song.
Last, showing some interesting recovering, Carry Me goes back to its peak position.
My headplone broke midway thru the week. That may explain the pretty sparse list of new entries. That doesn't mean, however, some songs didn't managed to do something with their chart runs: Brokenhearted by Karmin was my most played song this week, so it makes sense for it to break the Top 10 (15 - 8); American Kids manages to be the biggest gainer because, unlike Brokenhearted, it was listened three times in a roll and I guess the system takes that into consideration (40 - 14); the DivinyIs's lovely track about touching yourself when you think of your loved one ( :-? ) has a nice production so it rises 33 - 20.
The biggest loser is "The Sign", something that leaves me pretty sad as it has a wonderful groove, but I guess it's time to say goodbye  .

Nice certifications system! :)
Glad to see "Final Song" being Platinum, it's definitely one of the best songs of the year so far.

Wow at Avril spending another week at number one. Glad for her though. I hope she releases a new album soon, i'm waiting for new stuff from her :)

Fantastic debut for "Hands To Myself" by Selena. While i really like the song, i'm surprised how big it was as it's clearly my least favorite single from her latest album. Also great re-entries for The Veronicas, Meghan Trainor, Chainsmokers ft. Daya and Marit Larsen :)
