This is my weekly personal top 10 singles chart that I've made about my favorite musical decade-the 80's! One day I wil also make top 10 lists for the 70's.

Another thing I should add before the charts-I didn't make this chart in real time as I was only born in 1997. I listened to songs that were hits in the UK, USA and my home country of Israel so maybe not all of the songs will be familiar to you (for that reason I add the links).

3.1.1980
Image
1. Rupert Holmes-Escape-I haven't made the top 10 lists for the 70's but I do have a list of #1 hits and this is this songs third week at the top. One of my favorite guilty pleasures
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TazHNpt6OTo
2. Queen-Crazy little thing called love-when a legend like Freddie Mercury makes a tribute to a legend like Elvis, the result has to be legendary.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zO6D_BAuYCI
3.Pat Benatar-Heartbreaker-A song that was a big hit in America but not so much in Israel, unfortunately.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vy-QmgdUVTI
4.Styx-Babe-A US #1 hit and a wonderful classic from a great band.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBi61pgDUP8
5.Barbra Streisand & Donna Summer-No more tears-In the real Israeli chart this was the #1 hit for that week. It also topped the American and Swedish charts.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsY066wa08E
6.Supertramp-Take the long way home-This was my #1 song before "Escape", for one week, and Supertramp's third #1 single in my chart after "The logical song" and "Breakfast in America".
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKGOCOAI_2c
7.The Buggles-Video killed the radio star-And Before Supertramp, this was my #1 song for 4 weeks.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8r-tXRLazs
8.Pink Floyd-Another brick in the wall-I personaly think this song is slightly overrated, but it's still a good song.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YR5ApYxkU-U
9.Electric Light Orchestra-Confusion-ELO were one of the most popular bands of the 70's all over the world and were revolutionary in their mixture of rock, disco and a light orchestra.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12AcglZ2xGw
10.Madness-One step beyond (new)-The only debut to my top 10. This was their second single and first UK top 10 single.

1.Queen-Crazy little thing called love (+1)-I'm a huge Queen fan so expect a lot of #1 singles for them in the future...
2.Rupert Holmes-Escape (-1, 3 weeks at the top)
3.Pat Benatar-Heartbreaker (=)
4.Styx-Babe (=)
5.Barbra Streisand & Donna Summer-No more tears (=)
6.Led Zeppelin-Fool in the rain (new)-This week's highest debut belongs to a great samba-rock tune, inspired by the 1978 FIFA world cup in Argentina.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d52M5M6OOXs
7.The Police-Message in a bottle (new)-And after Led Zeppelin, here's another debut by a legendary band.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbXWrmQW-OE
8.Madness-One step beyond (+2, 2 weeks)
9.The Buggles-Video killed the radio star (-2, 4 weeks at the top)
10.Kenny Loggins-This is it (new)-The third debut comes from a song Kenny wrote in order to encourage his father before a surgery for vascular problems.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8SSdyflGN4

left the chart-
Electric Light Orchestra-Confusion
Pink Floyd-Another brick in the wall
Supertramp-Take the long way home (1 week at the top)

1.Queen-Crazy little thing called love (=, 3 weeks at the top)
2.Kenny Loggins-This is it (+4, 3 weeks)-Kenny Loggins goes up 8 spots in just two weeks. Will it reach the top of the chart or will it run out of steam? You'll see...
3.Rupert Holmes-Escape (-1, 3 weeks at the top)
4.Led Zeppelin-Fool in the rain (=, 3 weeks)
5.The Police-Message in a bottle (=, 3 weeks)
6.Pat Benatar-Heartbreaker (-3)
7.Electric Light Orchestra-Last train to London (new)-This song was Confusion's B-side in the UK but in the USA and France it was a single of it's own.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Up4WjdabA2c
8.Madness-One step beyond (=, 4 weeks)
9.ABBA-I have a dream (-2, 2 weeks)
10.Madness-My girl (new)-While their song "One step beyond" is currently spending it's third week in the same place, Madness puts another song to the top 10. By the way, did you know that when Madness performed the song on TOTP in January 1980 they were the first artist to be in the show in the new decade?

7.Electric Light Orchestra-Last train to London (=, 2 weeks)
8.Madness-My girl (+2, 2 weeks)
9.Kenny Rogers-Coward of the county (new)-I'm not a big fan of country music but Kenny Rogers is a very good singer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEJniCCuqR4
10.Steve Forbert-Romeo's tune-America had a wave of local soft rock hits back in the late 70's-early 80's and Romeo's tune is definitely one of the best songs in that wave-it's beautiful, poetic and doesn't try to do any emotional shortcuts.
