I can't believe how crazy and busy the last months have been. I've travelled a lot, had to face a lawsuit and to testify in court, got some new work, handed in my bachelor thesis, had to go to hospital, etc. - When it comes to Ukmix, Eurovision and FSC was basically the only thing I was able to deal with (because I wanted to have a bit of a social life in reality as well) but tbh, I really missed the Personal Charts section, following and commenting on your personal charts and doing my "Mainshow Goes Diva" thread as well. I have no bigger trips planned for now, applied for my master (seems I will be at home more often), we basically won two lawsuits and it seems that my life is getting a bit more consistent. #yeah
Thanks for all your comments on the Katy Perry countdown! Can't believe it took place 9 months ago!
'I Kissed A Girl' is incredibly catchy, it was my favourite song of 2008. It has lost some of its appeal over the years but I still like it.
'Teenage Dream' is okay, though far from my favourite song by Katy.
Great countdown, intrigued to see which diva is next!
"I Kissed A Girl" was also my favourite song of 2008 (apart from "Piece Of Me" maybe) and tbh, I don't think it has lost any appeal but I am glad you still like it.
Thanks! Hope you will like the next diva(s)!
Amazing top 2, I kissed a girl
is easily one of the most defining pop songs of the 00s. Teenage dream
well, the whole era was spectacular and this was definitely up there with Katy's best singles.
Thank you! I am glad you like my Top 2 that much and I agree, "I Kissed A Girl" is iconic and definied pop music of the late 00's whilst "Teenage Dream"'s era was incredibly massive. Should've been a highlight for all pop music lovers! - Sadly, I do not really like "Roar" that much
I feared that Firework will be in the top 2, glad it isn't
Teenage dream is a really nice pop song, I like it
sorry I never really liked I kissed a girl though :/ somehow the only song I love from that album is Waking up in Vegas, the others are average or bad for me. I never got the fascination about I kissed a girl
"Firework" was a great bop back in the day but I think it has aged terribly; even though I am thankful that Katy went all #unapologetic with the song and tried to create an empowering pop track. - It's become slightly annoying to my ears, though.
I am glad you like "Teenage Dream" as well but it's shocking to see you don't like her debut album at all
Top 2 is amazing.
"Teenage Dream" is probably Top 3 for me, too. It's between "California Gurls", "Teenage Dream" and "Roar".
"I Kissed A Girl" has aged better than "Hot N Cold" for me, even though I prefered the latter one back in the day. It's definitely an iconic song IMO.
Thanks! - I am glad we seem to appreciate "Teenage Dream" the same way! - "I Kissed A Girl" has indeed aged very well and I agree with you saying it's iconic.
JSparksFan wrote:"I Kissed a Girl" is a classic! I was attending a staunchly religious high school at the time of its release, so the song was a taboo subject. I didn't care, though; I was a very open supporter!
"Teenage Dream" best represents the kind of artist Katy is. It was an era-defining song for her - in more ways than one - with her sexiest music video to date.
I'm a tad disappointed that "Firework" didn't feature, but great list otherwise!
I am glad we agree on "I Kissed A Girl". It is shocking to learn that a harmless pop song like "I Kissed A Girl" is still a subject of heated debate among very religious people (same happened to "God Is A Woman" by Ariana Grande). People should be less judgemental and embrace good music whenever they have the chance to get blessed by it
- I agree! - tbh, I think "Teenage Dream" and "I Kissed A Girl" are both songs which defined Katy's eras as well as pop music back in the day. - I knew you would be missing "Firework" but like I have mentioned in this post above, I think it has aged terribly but I appreciate her effort to create an empowering pop anthem.

Which songs would you have liked to see on my countdown? - I am glad you like the Top 2, though!

I tried vegetarian bitterballen once...when I was in Venlo. Personally, I don't mind them but the original version is still the best
Oh, really? What did make you think that "Unconditionally" would be my #1? - I mean, I am pretty sure that most people are surprised it even made my Top 10
- It's such an underrated masterpiece, though. I am glad you appreciate it the same way as I do! - I had no clue the song has such a special meaning to you! That's awesome! - Hope you like the Top 2 as well.
Surprised to see I Kissed A Girl this high, would have missed my top 10. It's decent, but at times a bit problematic and I am not too sure about it anymore. Teenage Dream is much, much better though. Good #1. I do however miss soms Katy bops in here though.
Mt top 10 songs would probably be, in no order: Unconditionally, Wide Awake, Teenage Dream, Hot N Cold. Chained To The Rhythm, Waking Up In Vegas, Thinking Of You, The One That Got Away, Firework and Roar,
Shame Hot N Cold missed it
You did? On WhatsApp you were just making fun of me
I think I read somewhere you said you loved the video so much, so maybe that's why I was secretly hoping you would stan as much for the song as I did. It still did very well to end up so high in here though!!
Wow! "I Kissed A Girl" wouldn't have made your Top 10. Tbh, I think it has aged very well and I think it's a career-defining moment. But I am glad you like my number-one
Your Top 10 looks fine to me. It's crazy how massive her discography is even though her career is rather young
Oh, I love to make a bit fun on What's App
That's just a way of showing how much I appreciate you as a friend. It was so amazing to see you and Jeroen again in London
