Can't wait to buy a magazine with you #magazinesmates
I agree. GaGa's "Born This Way" was also semi-political but more society-criticising like "Chained To The Rhythm"; it's just bad that the song itself sucked because GaGa is so freaking talented and she has her heart on the right place. I love her personality!
Yeeeeeeeeeees! Finally somehow is loving my choice! I am quite shocked that "Thinking Of You" isn't well-received among Ukmixers and therefore, I agree with you saying that it's her most underrated single. And yeeeeees again! I want to authentic/raw Katy back as well. She can still deliver some fun bops but it wouldn't hurt to show that singer-songwriter side again. - Thanks for taking your time reading my comment and agreeing! - I'm Still Breathing <3 #katymates
, harsh! She actually released her album the year before, and got a top 5 hit single out of it! Touch My Fire was just a stand-alone single. I actually did watch the performance and it was indeed awful
I actually really like Born This Way! Always have. Shame you also don't appreciate Joanne.
#katymates, although I would more say #thinkingofyoumates, as your next bunch is a bit hit-and-miss for me. But firstly back to Thinking Of You, I am also surprised to see so many people hating on it! I would love her to go back to that sound again, much better than most of the things she is releasing nowadays. Waking Up In Vegas is another example, such a cool song. Would definitely put it high in my top 10 as well.
Rise, on the other hand, is just a song I always forgot existed. I don't even dislike it, it's just not very interesting
Like I previously said, there isn't a Katy single I truly dislike, but I would count E.T. as my least favourite Katy song (to date- as Hey, Hey, Hey is actually awful). I quite enjoy it, but waay too high in your countdown.
Poor Javine. I still feel so bad for her
Failing in Popstars and Eurovision
Hehe, but #katymates sounds so much better but since you don't like "Rise", I think that we will never really become #musicalmates but I am still glad that you appreciate the old Katy as much as I do. Maybe the melodies of the older tracks aren't as catchy as her new ones but the tracks felt more natural.. so I agree!
- I am glad that "Hey Hey Hey" will take the thrown of your least favourite Katy single because "E.T." is flawless <3

"Waking Up in Vegas" is the song that made me take notice of Katy. The chorus is such a beautiful explosion of care-free, no-phucks-given (as you pointed out) euphoria. I'm glad to see it this high.
"Rise" is awesome! For me, you've ranked it well, about as high as I would have. The song is special to me, as it soundtracked the NBC promo for the Rio Olympic Games last year, which was a trying championship for my favourite athlete. The lyrics about overcoming adversity take me back to that summer every time, and even in my personal life, the song has tremendous relevance.
Let's start with where we agree: "E.T." is a fantastic song, with a killer hook. Kiss me, ki-ki-kiss me, infect me with your love and fill me with your poison seems simple on paper, but it is so damn brilliant! As for the point where we differ: Kanye's verse is absolutely essential to the song's 10/10 rating for me. His rhymes here are all winners, especially the last bit: I'mma disrobe you, then I'mma probe you, see I abducted you, so I tell you what to do is on the right side of the classless/sexiness divide.
Thanks! I am glad that you like the trio as much as I do.
I loved it that you mentioned "euphoria" when you described "Waking Up In Vegas" (Loreen <3) and it's great to read that you like "Rise" as well and that you would even rank it inside your Top 5 as well! - I am not a fan of the Olympics at all (I didn't even watch parts of it) but since you are so competitive and interested in athletics and cheering for your favourites, I can understand why you have a special connection to the track and the "overcoming burdens" metaphor can easily be applied to our own personal uphill battles in daily life. I am glad the song means so much to you.
You seem to be the only one in here to fully enjoy Kanye's verse. I think it's very off-putting and not sexy at all but oh well, how boring life would be if we are all attracted to the same things. Glad you like the song and its infectious melody, though.
