Also the music in the track is sampled from a Sting song called
Shape of your heart, and Craig David only a few weeks earlier had brought out a single called
Rise & fall which also sampled the Sting song, but in his case it was a duet with Sting as well.
So in retrospect Sugababes might've looked like they were copying Craig David. Surely this would've been purely co-incidental though?
Yeah, I know! That Craig David song did very well over here as well

Guess the Dutch just really like Sting, haha. For some reason, I never really got into that particular song- even though I did like Craig- but I think the sample worked perfectly for the Sugababes.

and Stronger is really strong, definitely one of their best songs, it was that album era when I began to love them, it was great
It was definitely the era in which I started to become a fan, even though I did like their first era a lot as well. But more on that later

Thanks for introducing a few album tracks by Sugababes to me. I don't know, I really enjoyed their singles but I never bothered to listen to their albums and since you mentioned "Every Heart Broken" (which is kinda of girl-ish and not my cup of tea, sorry; sounds messy, hate the arrangement and its melody)... I had no clue there was an album between their best of and "Sweet 7" Oo - It must have flopped in Germany big time. "Can We Call A Truce" is slightly better but I dislike it as well (now I know why I have no memories when it comes to that album's release). "Never Gonna Dance Again" is brilliant, though. That's single material. Catchy, memorable and fun!
Oh, please let me know that "Toxic" story!
"Stronger" is flawless! I am glad it made your Top 10. Perhaps I would even rank it higher. Like in the Netherlands, the song was huge in Germany. (I hate your pun because the song is indeed very strong

)
OMG! I forgot "Shape" existed! I love it! - It's fierce and it has a hell of a chorus. When I watched the music video, I had the melody of the chorus in my mind and I had no clue it was a song performed by the Sugababes! It sounds a bit different, almost TLC-esque. What a track!
AAH

Like I said, Every Heart Broken is probably my all time favourite Sugababes song. Shame for you describing it as girl-ish

They actually released two albums in between the best of and Sweet 7- Change and Catfights & Spotlights. C&S, which features both Every Heart Broken and Call We Call A Truce, is their best one in my opinion. But it bombed pretty badly, even in the UK.

This is basically me and Jeroen when it comes to Call Me Maybe.
I can definitely see the slight TLC comparison! Never actually thought about it before, but makes total sense.
