#88 Pixie Lott - Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh) (2009)

British pop singer Pixie Lott burst onto the music scene with a massive debut era which included two number one singles: the first of which was 'Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh). This fun, upbeat and infectious song is honestly so well executed and truly deserved its status of a number one single.

#87 Rudimental feat. Ella Eyre - Waiting All Night (2013)
UK peak: #1

Rudimental's phenomenal #1 hit helped introduce the UK to the phenomenal vocals of Ella Eyre. The song was literally everywhere and deservedly so. Soaring vocals and drum and bass instrumentals make for an excellent and effective combo.

#86 One Direction - Best Song Ever (2013)
UK peak: #2

The British boy band's possible best song was released just prior to their movie, in 2013. 'Best Song Ever' is such an irresistible guilty pleasure - and the list wouldn't be complete without it. From the fun video (including Zayn in drag) to the great production, the song is as good as boy band pop gets.

#85 AlunaGeorge feat. Popcaan - I'm in Control (2016)
UK peak: #39

This song has to be one of my favourites of 2016. The subdued verse compared to huge chorus and Aluna's distinct vocals make for such a clever dance song, with the addition of Popcaan who really adds to the song. The music video's vibe doesn't hurt either. With some of the best production I've heard on a song in a while, it would be criminal to not include it here.

I have never really liked 1D but "Best Song Ever" is cute and enjoyable and freaking catchy. I am glad it appears on your countdown.

I used to like Pixie Lott a lot back on the day, but has music has dated so badly and I can't listen to songs like Mama Do anymore! Not a 1D fan, but Best Song Ever is very, very good. So catchy and fun.

#84 Labrinth - Treatment (2012)

During the Syco star's phenomenal debut era, one of my favourite songs to be released was Labrinth's 'Treatment'. Soaring vocals, electronic synths and incredible lyrics all come together with a great chorus to create one of my favourite songs of the year. In retrospect, this song should probably be much higher. It's still in heavy rotation in my music library.

#83 The Saturdays - Ego (2010)
UK peak: #9

With one of my favourite music videos of all time, 'Ego' is one of my favourite songs by The Saturdays, who make numerous appearances on this list. All five members look and sound incredible, and the song spent a few weeks at number one on my chart, as well as finishing top five in my year-end charts. The superhero music video was clever and well executed.

Ah, NOW we are talking! Two absolutely brilliant songs.
Labrinth's debut era was just so, so good. I mean, Earthquake was the coolest song out there but Treatment was my immediate favourite album track when I got the album and I was so glad it ended up as a single. His voice sounds so good and I just have to sing whenever I hear this.

Ego is most definitely their most single in an already quite impressive back catalogue. It's just pop perfection and like you mentioned, the video was pretty brilliant. Especially for their standards :lol:

One of Cheryl's best singles, and her highest (and only) entry from her most recent album of the same name, 'Only Human' is a genuinely stunning electronic ballad that really highlights Cheryl's delicate voice, with some of the best songwriting she's had on her tracks.

One of Lily's most cutting songs, she's always at her best when making some cutting comment. The fun song cleverly discusses how women need to have their lives together by the age of 22.

My first introduction to Paloma Faith was this song, which I saw on TV and then instantly downloaded on Frostwire ( :oops:

). The song is such an excellent introduction to her with the drums and the incredible vocals.

#79 Sam Smith - I'm Not the Only One (2014)

Sam Smith's best ballad features Dianna Agron in its music video and contains perhaps his most convincing vocal performance. The song has a tinge of 60s soul without sounding dated, but still managed to sound fresher and more modern than other hits like 'Stay with Me'.

For a brief moment, Britain's premier boy band, The Wanted seemed to have more edge and stronger voices. 'Glad You Came' became one of their biggest hits and was even nominated for a Brit Award.

The #1 pop hit from 2011 was such a massive song, that unfortunately it was either overplayed or it hasn't aged very well. However, it still has a little charm to it - hence it's placement.

Ellie Goulding's 'Burn' still sounds great and fun with its EDM-pop influences. Ellie's vocal mixes absolutely perfectly with the track and makes for a euphoric song.
