Ray's Female Voices Top 50

So for the first time I am making a thread in this section of UKMIX.

Like many here, I love to listen to female singers.

I made a last.fm account in November 2015, so that's roughly 2,5 years ago.

I'll present my Female Voices Top 50 starting today. My list would look different if it was just about my 50 favorites.
But some have released albums or songs in those last 2,5 years that I played a lot, while some of my favorites haven't released anything new in years. So my list will be purely based on my most played female voices since November 2015.

I won't only list female singers. Groups with a female vocalist (Eurythmics, Carpenters, etc.) and all female groups (En Vogue, Eternal, etc.) have been counted too. That's why I've decided to call it female VOICES.

Hope you will enjoy it.

I was watching Jessica Simpson's #mess of a Superbowl performance earlier.

I Wanna Love You Forever is an outstanding vocal but dang, that woman does not know good technique.

I like SOME of Brandy's music.

Brandy has some a beautiful voice. It's so warm. My favourite song from her is "No Such Thing as Too Late".
Aretha Franklin was an angel. Her voice helped lift our spirits and at times gave us the soundtrack to cope with our pain.

"That Don't Impress Me Much" is a sure bet for my Top 10 Shania songs. Come on Over is an immense record, but beyond that stellar album, she has so many great songs to her name!

Meghan's music typically has a short shelf life for me, but she does have a knack for penning some hugely catchy songs. For me, it's between "No" and "Dear Future Husband" for her best track.

As for Shania and Meghan back to back, what a coincidence!

I don't like how Jessica changes things when she sings it live. She does a lot of unnecessary runs. Happy Christmas... was a vocal comeback for her, I love how she toned down from her baby voice days.

Meghan is underrated. A lot of her midtempos show how lush her vocals are.

Shania broke barriers by showing that one does not need to be a "vocal trinity" member (that term is so ridiculous!) to be able to slay music!

Brandy hasn't showed her versatility in her latest stuff, she did a rehearsal that was outstanding. I will look for the video when I see it.
Why oh why does God keep bringing me back to you?

I was surprised to see her in my Top 50. I hadn't realised I had played her more since August 2015 than favorites of mine like Jordin Sparks and Eternal. Then again, I didn't like Jordin's last album and Eternal's last album is already from 1999.

Meghan has some songs I like sooo much, that I've played them more than I realised. :D

I love that song. Should have been a hit.

I can't believe most of her albums are not on Spotify.

She is an incredible vocalist. One of the few who can do whistle notes like Mariah.

Paloma is a great artist, I love her unusual voice - it's powerful in such a unique way, you can tell a Paloma song within 3 seconds of her vocal starting.
