GaGarazzi wrote:As a big Zazie fan I am a little disappointed by her new album. Her voice comes across as too raspy and there are no songs that really stand out for me. Rodéo is a good album with two songs I really love: the title track and Toc Toc Toc. However I do prefer a few some of her other albums. The visual aspect is indeed interesting and well done. Do you speak French or just like the melodies?
French was one of my major subjects at high school. But I wasn't very good at it. I even went to four weeks of French summer camp to improve my French. So I should speak/understand French. But it is a very difficult language. Especially as you never have to speak/read/hear it (except for when I'm listening to French music).

Some songs are easy to understand like Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore by Celine Dion. But some songs I've no clue what they are about. So melody is also really important.

It's great to see "God Is A Woman" - which is arguably the best song of this year - back on your chart! Natasha St.-Pier's entry is very cute! lovely to see her on your chart!

OUT:
10. (re) Mylène Farmer feat. LP | N'oublie Pas (7 weeks) peak #1
11. (ne) Agency | Deeper And Deeper (7md Remix Edit) (1 week) peak #11
12. (ne) AGNEZ MO feat. Chris Brown | (Love) Overdose (1 week) peak #12

20. (re) Paul de Leeuw & Clouseau | Niets Meer (2 weeks) peak #4

Highlights:
Debbie Gibson is still at #1 with her new single Your Forever Girl. Releasing the video and even more for having it available on Spotify helped a lot with holding on to the #1 spot. Mariah Carey enters at #2 with her just released song GTFO. With only one day of streaming and already going to #2 shows it has a lot of potential to be #1 next week when she has a whole week of scrobbles. The song Hoeveel Ik Van Je Hou was released on Spotify by Elske Dewall, but then withdrawn (which is a real shame). So the scrobbles are mostly for me playing her YouTube performance. Meanwhile Marco Borsato has the chance of getting the bigger hit with the same song as it is on Spotify and so I could add it to my playlist.

Highlights:
With a full week of scrobbles, Mariah takes the #1 spot leaving everyone else far behind her. The highest new entry is for Mylène Farmer protégé Julia with SEXTO. Thanks to GaGarazzi for bringing my attention to her. My prediction for Marco Borsato taking over scrobbles from Elske Dewall (both singing Hoeveel Ik Van Je Hou) has not come true as Elske's version has returned to Spotify! Another Dutch song comes from Abel. A cover version of their song is #1 on the charts in the Netherlands: Verleden Tijd by Frenna & Lil Kleine. This made me re-discover the original version titled Onderweg. With En Vogue releasing Reach 4 Me as their new single, I have given this track a second chance. At #25 it's Trijntje Oosterhuis who sang this Marco Borsato original at De Beste Zangers van Nederland.

Nice to see you enjoyed my #1 last week. Also nice to see Zazie make a début in your charts. Is this your favourite song from her new album?

Curious to see how Mylène's new song débuts in your chart tomorrow. Have you heard her new album? It's fantastic!

Sorry to say, I'm not so taken by Zazie's new album. I did listen to all songs and gave some songs a little more play than others. Speed is my favorite, I guess.

Listening to Mylene's new album right now. Sounds good!

Highlights:
Despite only being available for just one day, With You by Mariah Carey got scrobbled by me so often, it leaped to the chart in just that one day. Another new entry that is worth mentioning is Don't Let Me Go by Raign. I stumbled upon this song when watching clips of Glennis Grace doing America's Got Talent. YouTube suggested Raign's audition for another show and I was taken by the song she sang: Don't Let Me Go. For the audition, watch the clip below:

Mariah Carey holds strong positions at #1 and #3. The Butterfly chanteuse gets the most competition from Papillon (meaning Butterfly in French) chanteuse Lara Fabian, who has just released the lead single from her up-coming album (that is scheduled for a February 2019 release). Kylie Minogue announced last week that Music's Too Sad Without You will be the final single taken from her Golden album. It had a two week stay in May in my chart with #20 as its peak. It returns at #20 and who knows... maybe it will break its peak next week.

Like I said in Stevyy's thread, "With You" is a masterpiece in songwriting. I seem to love it more with each passing day.

Pleased to see "Don't Lie to Me". I don't expect to see that one in many charts, but it's a good song, with a very relevant subject matter.

01. (01) Mariah Carey | With You (2 weeks) peak #1
03. (03) Mariah Carey | GTFO (5 weeks) peak #1
05. (05) Mylène Farmer | Sentimentale (3 weeks) peak #3
06. (07) Rita Ora | Let You Love Me (3 weeks) peak #2
09. (08) Little Mix & Cheat Codes | Only You (11 weeks) peak #2
10. (02) Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper | Shallow (2 weeks) peak #2
