Well, Aaliyah easily topped the chart, with 70% of people voting for her - and many people voting her as their favourite. 40% of people actually voted for the entire top 3 - a selection of tracks that are similar in style and seem to sum up the style of many people here. Sorry to those who voted for Lyte Funky Ones (me:sad:), J-Lo/Ja Rule, Allstars, Aurora and Idlewild - but the votes were not sufficient to keep them in the chart and they can no longer be voted for.

Honeystacia - great to see your joining us.

As you're new, I'll go through the rules of voting. You vote for 5 songs... but they have to be on one of the lists above. Therefore, for now, you're votes I'm listing are

1 - Tweet - Oops! (Oh My)
2 - Pink - Don't Let Me Get Me
3
4
5

Check back next week for the ability to vote for Atomic Kitten, within the next couple of weeks to vote for Anastacia, and in a few weeks to vote for Shakira. However, you still have 3 more votes left for this week, and if you so wish, the previous Anastacia and Shakira hits are still available for you to vote for.

yeah same thing i was wondering too deadman (see above). i think its a remix from the remix version of his kaos album. i also means that adam f will be the only act to have released three singles this year (after the lil mo and j majik collaborations).

Okay - here's the answers to a few questions - plus a question of my own.

1) Drum and Bass act Origin Unknown have remixed Adam F and MOP's "Stand Clear" and it has been doing BIG things in Drum and Bass clubs around the country. That's why it's been remixed

2) When the chart first started, some of the songs on the chart were on there with no votes - landing on due to previous week's votes. Therefore, it is perfectly possible to do a top 40. What do people think of that - it would possibly mean that people would have up to 20 more songs to vote for.

For people's interest, here's the numbers from 21-40 - but certainly this week you can't necessarily vote for all the songs on this list - only if they are in the above list
21 Lyte Funky Ones - Every Other Time
22 Garbage - Breaking Up The Girl
23 Jennifer Lopez featuring Ja Rule - Ain't It Funny
24 Allstars - Back When
25 Russell Watson and Faye Tozer - Someone Like You
26 H and Claire - DJ
27 X-Press:2 featuring David Byrne - Lazy
28 Cooper Temple Clause - Who Needs Enemies
29 Hives - Main Offender
30 Aurora - Dreaming
31 Idlewild - You Held The World In Your Arms
32 Nivea - Don't Mess With The Radio
33 Moby - We Are All Made Of Stars
34 Natalie Imbruglia - Wrong Impression
35 4 Strings - (Take Me Away) Into The Night
36 Tiga and Zyntherius - Sunglasses At Night
37 Ali G and Shaggy - Me Julie
38 Nivea - Runaway
39 Britney Spears - I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman
40 Alice Band - Now That You Love Me

a top 40 would be much more interesting. but if you were to do that, you might have to increase the number of votes allowed to about 7 or 8.

Yeah a top 40 might work Matthew but you would definately have to increase the voting to 10 votes each.

Two points.

First, I'm relighting this post - as very few people have submitted votes this week - where is everyone? The new chart will be put slightly earlier, as I'm away tomorrow night - will have to put the chart up at lunchtime - therefore the new entries list might not be 100% accurate. At the moment, from what I see, Atomic Kitten, Joe Cocker and Nikki Webster are NOT releasing next week - but I'm not sure about it.

The second point is a change to the chart.

I agree with the people who've said that the chart would be far more interesting as a top 40. I'm also a big fan of decimalisation, however, and therefore having 7 or 8 votes each seems rather bizarre. Also, I consider 10 votes to be far too many - even if the chart is longer. Therefore, starting tomorrow, the format will be almost the same as it currently is, however...

The chart will now be a top 40. The "Dropped Out" list will reflect that - listing songs that fall out of the top 40 - not the top 20. You will be able to vote precisely as before, and there will STILL be only 5 votes each.

If this system doesn't work, I might investigate something slightly different (like possibly giving people more votes)

Ah well, noone else voted - it's now closed, on a slightly smaller number of votes.
