#10.(85) + 75 - 1.693 - Niall Horan
Image

Niall had an amazing year in which he saw himself become the 2nd biggest former member of One Direction. Together with Harry Styles he ruled the pop waves. A number one album and number one single crowned his wonderful second year as a solo performer.
#9.(68) +59 - 1.703 - Sheryl Crow
Image

Shery Crow has long lost her commercial appeal in the real world. But once a beloved evergreen, always a beloved evergreen. Sheryl Crow is one of the biggest musical influences in my life and of course... a new album by the Queen would smash. Sheryl now belongs to the 50 most scrobbled artists of all times.
#8.(75) + 67 - 1.799 - Katy Perry
Image

Katy Perry aka Mother Perrysa made so many headlines in 2017 for the wrong reasons. That wasn't fair, especially not the way in which people talked her down. Her live-streaming idea was brilliant and I was glued to my computer screen for hours in absolute awe. Witness became one of the biggest albums of all times. Witness is certified triple-platinum for 1,500 scrobbles or better.
#7.(66) + 59 - 2.075 - Nelly Furtado
Image

Ever since the year 2000 Nelly Furtado belongs to the most creative and influental female performers in my world. She reached her artistic peak with the album Folklore, her commercial magnum opus with Loose and not any less an incredible comeback with The Ride. The Ride has been certified four-times-platinum for 2,000 scrobbles or more and belongs to the biggest albums ever released. Her song Phoenix became an anthem and is one of the most played ballads of the year. Nelly Furtado may be commercially beaten and many people may dislike her for falling as far as she did, but the music is still there, y'all, you only have to listen to and for it. Nelly, you're gonna be alright!
#6.(48) + 42 - 2.793 - Take That
Image

Take That belong of the highest order of artists - The Originals. I discovered Take That in 1995 and became an instant hardcore fan. I had all of their posters up on my bedroom walls. I was such a Gary stan. Nobody Else was the first studio album by any artist I actively purchased from my own money - prior to 1995 I received my music as gifts for my birthdays or Christmas. When they disbanded something inside of me died because TT serve as a direct link to my childhood. 1995 and 1996 were my alltime favourite years when I was growing up. So, when they returned I was over the moon. They have never disappointed me. All of their work is sublime. Wonderland has all the right sounds for me.
#5.(1) -4 - 2.878 - Robbie Williams
Image

Robbie Williams, what can I say. King, soulmate, husband, he is my alltime favourite artist. Never not ever had I imagined that it could come to this. When he left Take That in 1995 I HATED him. It took me some time to forgive him. When Freedom '96 came out, I was almost there, but there was so much more to come. His first 2 solo albums flew by and I did not care that much - altho I worshipped him already. It wasn't until "Kids" in 2000 and "Rock DJ" that I totally lost it and myself in his music and him as a celebrity. I need to own EVERYTHING by him. It is an addiction. I actually own ALL of his physical singles, books, T-Shirts, Banners of Albums covers, albums etc. He lost some positions this year, but he is currently high up in the charts again with his 2nd edition of unreleased material "Under the Radar" which I ordered from his website, a signed copy which found its way next to the first edition's signed copy in my CD shelf.
#4.(60) + 56 - 3.575 - The Killers
Image

Mr. Flowers, Brandon owns so many of my alltime records that it would have surprised me if his band wouldn't have released one of the greatest and most successful albums of 2017. Wonderful Wonderful had it all, ballads, funk, rock and pop. They occupied the #1 position on the albums chart for weeks, although they've never posed a threat to the 2 male acts that are still in front of them. My relationship with the Killers started a decade ago with Human and it lasted and grew. Read my Mind has long become one of my soulmate songs and "Sam's Town" one of my most played albums of all times. It wasn't until Battle Born when they completely annihilated all competition. That album was the alltime most played album during the LastFM era up until 2013. Wonderful Wonderful has been certified FIVE times platinum.
#3.(#3) - / - 3.608 - Mariah Carey
Image

Miss Carey made it again. The Queen of Christmas and music and my life put herself in the top three of 2017. She released a couple of new songs, but no new albums. Understandably Butterfly holds the record as the most played catalogue album of all times - only album of the 1990s certified 4x platinum or better. Long story short, she started 2017 as the most hated celebrity of all times and finished it as one of the year's most beloved icons. She redeemed herself in NY, finished a great tour in North America and ruled my airwaves. The two artists ahead of her, however, played in a whole other league.

Imagine Dragons' 2017 album "EVOLVE" has officially gone DIAMOND. The album has therefore amassed 5,000 scrobbles or more since its release. "Evolve" is the only second album ever to reach this milestone. The biggest album ever remains to be "The Desired Effect" by Brandon Flowers (2015).
