Hey, I'm finally a bit more active again and this is the reason, I'm here to count down what I consider the best 100 songs of the last year!

To give you an idea of my taste.. here's how the top 10s have shaped up previously!

2005
10. Darius - Live Twice
09. Kelly Clarkson - Because Of You
08. James Blunt - You're Beautiful
07. KT Tunstall - Suddenly I See
06. Big Ang ft. Siobhan - It's Over Now
05. Kelly Clarkson - Behind These Hazel Eyes
04. Estelle - Go Gone
03. Eminem - Mockingbird
02. Daniel Bedingfield - Wrap My Words Around You
01. KT Tunstall - Black Horse And The Cherry Tree

2004
10. 2Play ft. Raghav & Juxci D - So Confused
09. Brian Mcfadden - Real To Me
08. Eric Prydz - Call On Me
07. V - Can You Feel It?
06. Lemar - If There's Any Justice
05. Jamelia - Stop
04. D-Side - Pushin' Me Out
03. JoJo - Leave (Get Out)
02. Destiny's Child - Lose My Breath
01. Britney Spears - Toxic

2003
10. Jamelia - Superstar
09. Melanie C - Melt
08. Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River
07. D-Side - Real World
06. Daniel Bedingfield - If You're Not The One
05. Lisa Scott-Lee - Lately
04. S Club 8 - Fool No More (jeeeez I was young!)
03. Sinead Quinn - I Can't Break Down
02. Stacie Orrico - Stuck
01. Lisa Scott-Lee - Too Far Gone

So with that in mind I've put up a poll of ten songs - one of which IS my No.1 - it's up to you to guess which, and I'll start my countdown probably tomorrow!

Lily Allen - Smile 8-) Though it'll probably be Snow Patrol since you're about the only person I DIDN'T choose that song in :o

2005
10. Darius - Live Twice
09. Kelly Clarkson - Because Of You
08. James Blunt - You're Beautiful
07. KT Tunstall - Suddenly I See
06. Big Ang ft. Siobhan - It's Over Now
05. Kelly Clarkson - Behind These Hazel Eyes
04. Estelle - Go Gone
03. Eminem - Mockingbird
02. Daniel Bedingfield - Wrap My Words Around You
01. KT Tunstall - Black Horse And The Cherry Tree

KT Tunstall (Black Horse And The Cherry Tree) and Daniel Bedingfield are FANtastic, although I didn't know KT Tunstall at the time! Eminem is great and Kelly Clarkson was my personal #1 so one of my faves for sure. The other KT Tunstall (Suddenly I See) is also fantastic and of course James Blunt and Darius (Danesh?) 8-)

2004
09. Brian Mcfadden - Real To Me
08. Eric Prydz - Call On Me
07. V - Can You Feel It?
06. Lemar - If There's Any Justice
05. Jamelia - Stop
04. D-Side - Pushin' Me Out
03. JoJo - Leave (Get Out)
02. Destiny's Child - Lose My Breath

Destiny's Child and JoJo - both GREAT urban tracks and D-Side - whoops liked that too! V as well. Eric Prydz is a great dance record.

2003
09. Melanie C - Melt
08. Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River
07. D-Side - Real World
06. Daniel Bedingfield - If You're Not The One
05. Lisa Scott-Lee - Lately
04. S Club 8 - Fool No More (jeeeez I was young!)
03. Sinead Quinn - I Can't Break Down
02. Stacie Orrico - Stuck
01. Lisa Scott-Lee - Too Far Gone

Wow these are old! Melanie C was great, Justin Timberlake is becoming a modern classic and Daniel Bedingfield is also nice. Lisa Scott-Lee (both but Too Far Gone I think more) were great and Sinead Quinn! What a song 8-)

Ahem, I know it too, I did buy that particular album! (Cept I'm not a fan of the tune, but I do like other tunes on that album)

I think last year you came of age in terms of your musical taste Adam...and this year looks a bit better. I have no idea who will be your #1, but I do like the Snow Patrol (is there anybody who isn't going to be putting that one in their top 10 this year? It's like Blunty all over again....I might not, I'm yet to calculate my chart fully), KT & Lily tunes...
Let's embrace the point of no return.

Right before I begin, some points!

To Fresh: I was young mentally!
To T: I am not going to confirm whether I like anyone, for the reason below..
To Shell: Those in the poll are not my top 10 songs - in fact there's no guarantee any of them are in the top 100.
And to Ste: Cheers, but be prepared for some shockers, it' hasn't got that much better!

Haha, well here's the first batch.

100. All American Rejects - It Ends Tonight
Image
AAR are not a band I usually go for massively but following the also decent Dirty Little Secret, I thought this was a very good ballad number from the lads. Certainly one I liked from first listen.

99. Nathan - Cold As Ice
Image
One of the UK's most talented young urban artists, who, surprise surprise normally gets very overlooked. This was an upbeat stomper tune and I really thought it might have done better.

98. Beyonce ft. Jay-Z - Deja Vu
Image
Many considered this a weak comeback for Bee but given time to grow I really liked it in the end, even more so I liked the excellent Freemasons remix.

97. Ne*Yo - So Sick
Image
This is one of those songs that I'm a bit 'over' now, but when released it was absolutely massive and at the time I really loved it, one of the 'classics' of the year.

96. Beverley Knight - (Take A Little) Piece Of My Heart
Image
This Beverley cover was really great, it wasn't a lazy one and was a radio favourite, I think it was her longest charting single ever or something, really nice.

95. Cascada - Everytime We Touch
Image
My holiday song of this year! As chosen by my sister and Mother, it's a great song to have a dance to and is really reminiscent of the summer.

94. Girls Aloud - Whole Lotta History
Image
This wasn't one of the girls greatest ever songs, but before the album was released it was touted as brilliant and to be fair it is. A really nice ballad where all the girls get a chance to sing.

93. Razorlight - In The Morning
Image
I really thought this was pants to begin with, but then it became one of my many 'Jaks songs' (to understand that you'll need to know my local haunt, Jumpin' Jaks, it's one of the songs that reminds me of there) And it is now insanely catchy!

92. Richard Ashcroft - Music Is Power
Image
Now here's a man I'm not usually a fan of, but in my TV course last year I had to pick three songs to use as part of a music review to film - and we had to have their videos. This being one of only three DVD songs I could find, I picked it up, and loved it!

91. Pussycat Dolls - I Don't Need A Man
Image
Four PCD songs out this year, and here's one! Did any of the others chart? Wait and find out, but this was a nice, pure pop song for them, and it didn't do badly at all for a fifth single!

All Ameriacan Rejects, Cascada, Razorlight and Girls Aloud - good choices. I agree with that you said about Whole Lotta History as well.
