Everytime I listen to Duffy I have to think of the awful 'Whale Whale Whale', I don't think that I can overcome the trauma this song has caused anymore. That's why she has vanished from all of my playlists.
Agreed! It is also one of her finest vocal performances.

I actually haven't heard that Duffy song. I'll have to listen to hear how terrible it is.
I charted it. I'll agree it's not good, and I probably just charted it because I was thirsty for new Duffy. But Warwick Avenue is her best single

I did! "King Kong Song" seemed like the best track on the first listen, but "Dance..." is irresistible!

I actually searched for "Whale, Whale, Whale". The actual song is mediocre, but it's not career-ending bad.

Yeah, seeing "Untouchable" on the female 00s countdown prompted me to revisit your Girls Aloud countdown, and I decided to listen to some of the tracks there I hadn't listened to in a while.

Ellie on Lights! I'm so bummed I missed that! Thursday is wonderful in general :)

And the Y&Y domination on Friday - what are your favorite tracks? I love Karma, but it didn't catch your attention, I see. :(

Azealia has just said so many odd and offensive things over the year, I just refuse to listen to her music.

Yeah, not only am I presently obsessed with an Azealia Banks song, I also revisited Kanye West's Yeezus and listened to Ye. I'd had both artists on a stoplist, but I lifted the ban out of curiosity, and I have to admit that there were no regrets with Azealia's pardon.

I actually haven't seen the first one, and even though I'll probably see the second one, I'm not sure when it'll be released, so the ABBA entries are down to me just deciding to explore their discography from the start, as opposed to building excitement for the Mamma Mia film.

• Like stevyy mentioned, does Drake’s sampling deserve any credit for this epic “Emotions” resurgence? Maybe her latest residency announcement played a role? Not that one ever needs a specific reason to bathe in the healing waters of Mariah’s discography, of course! Looks like this marks the second-ever stint on top for this particular Mariah classic?
• I completely owe Jake for introducing me to “N’oublie Pas” by sending it to No. 1 over on his chart! I’d never heard of Mylène before, and while I’ve enjoyed a few songs from LP, I haven’t been actively checking for new music from her. This is a VERY strong contender for my new favourite of hers, though!
• If memory serves, both “My My My!” and “Bloom” were just fine/pleasant enough for you (at best), so “Dance To This” looks to be Troye’s first offering this era to really strike a chord with you? Admittedly, it’s paled in comparison to those other two for me, but I’m not too shocked that you’re better at appreciating its more subtle/understated charms (kind of like Tay’s “Call It What You Want,” though that eventually grew on me in a big way...)
• Aw, many thanks for giving several of my recent chart entries/recommendations a try! I haven’t been very good about reciprocating that lately - just popping in here when I see stuff that I know/love dominating.

Yet another chart that gives me all kinds of feels, Akini! :D

"Love Takes Time" is lovely, but when you're on an album as strong as her debut, you have to be really special to get much attention.

"Faded" wasn't an immediate stunner, but it's grown to become one of my favourite songs from Mariah. The lyrics are so relatable!

Yeah, Drake is responsible for the "Emotions" return, and, yes it's the second day atop the chart for the classic.

Have you heard "Lost on You"? That one is spectacular.

I wasn't too crazy about "Bloom", but "My My My!" hit #1 on my chart in early January. "Dance to This" is definitely the best Troye Sivan song, though, and may be the best single Ariana's been a part of as well.
