"Vogue" is definitely brilliant, as is its interpolation in "Deeper and Deeper".

"Do You Wanna Come Over?" should have been the lead single of "Glory" to make people fall in love with her again. It's such an energetic, sexy track with a very interesting arrangement. That's basically what people expect and want from Britney. Her team could've continued with "Make Me..." around the time of the VMA's and the album's release. What a missed opportunity! - I am glad to see it back on your chart!

I see, you stan for "Roulette" again? - It seems that you are not really keen on "Hey Hey Hey" as a single?

Amazing #1! I miss Amy :(

I didn't like "Do You Wanna Come Over?" initially, but I adore it now, and I agree with you that it would have been a good pick for lead. "Make Me..." was too tame for a lead Brit Brit single.

"Roulette" is one of the best songs of the year, and certainly one of the best tracks Katy's ever recorded. "Hey Hey Hey" feels like an ill-advised pick to me.

The entire Back to Black album has aged like fine wine. I love it more each day. Sadly, I'm starting to share some of its more pessimistic views on love, but that is unlikely to remain that way for too long. Love always wins in the end (like today in Australia, for instance). <3

• You're revisiting acts all the time, but the fact that this is accompanied by an avatar change makes me wonder if there's anything that inspired such Jordin enthusiasm right now (aside from living up to your name.) I remember her making headlines for that incredibly-clever hand trick at the NFL game, but that was a couple months ago now...
• I think I saw somewhere that you're holding off on reputation until it's available for streaming? Makes sense, though I'm obviously curious to see your thoughts. "Call It What You Want" hasn't been sticking out to me after my first few listens through the album, but I can understand the appeal of its chill charms.
• I've probably mentioned this before, but I really owe Glee for educating me/helping me properly appreciate the many brilliant moments on Rumours. I'd been vaguely aware of some of them (mostly "Don't Stop", probably due to commercials and such), but their renditions really made these tracks' appeal clear ("Go Your Own Way", "Never Going Back Again", "I Don't Want To Know", "Songbird.") It inspired me to download the album, where there's even more gems to discover (especially "Second Hand News.")
• I just realized it's been a hot minute since we've heard anything from Years & Years, so hopefully they don't keep us waiting much longer.

Yet another chart that's on my heart, Akini! :D

I'm so impressed to see Mariah already doing so well on iTunes/Spotify in many countries... so nice to see it back on your charts as well. Definitely a legendary classic, and probably my favorite one when it comes to christmas classics.

"Bad Romance" is pop perfection <3
"Anywhere" has to be one of the finest pop moments of 2017, glad it's such a hit in the UK and here's hope the rest of the world will follow soon.

"The Power Of Goodbye" is one of my favorite tracks by Madonna, what a beautiful ballad

Hi Akini :D

These are my personal favourites in todays chart:

01.(RE) Jordin Sparks - Tattoo (Best Comeback)
03.(RE) Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas Is You
04.(02) Chris Isaak - Wicked Game
05.(RE) Lady Gaga - Bad Romance
06.(04) Rita Ora - Anywhere (Biggest Free Faller)

15.(RE) Years & Years - Meteorite
16.(RE) Harry Styles - Sign of the Times
17.(RE) Steps - Deeper Shade of Blue
18.(RE) Madonna - Borderline

Its funny to see your free faller is only dropping two places. Usually the drops are more steep than this. :P I'm just happy to see Anywhere successfully holding strong in your daily charts. I never thought i would ever love a Rita Ora single in the way i've taken to this track. <3

So I'm contractually obligated to listen to three more albums for the year (bound by the precedent I established for myself) in order to have a list of 25 albums for my year-end albums countdown. As I don't know if I have it in me to check out eight records to extend that list to 30 albums, I have to decide which three albums are going to make the cut. Taylor's is a must, G-Eazy's is a question mark, and there's Drake's, Hurts's, and Miley's most recent records battling for that third spot. So, in a nutshell, no, I have not yet listened to Miley's new album, and there's a decent chance I might not get it to it until February 2018.

As Abiyasa had the honour of announcing, she's secretly gotten married and pregnant over the course of the summer months, so she has me feeling my age a bit. It's been 10 years since she won American Idol, released her debut album, and opened the door for me to the incredible realm that is the music industry.

I think it's hitting Spotify this weekend, so, yeah, I'm curious to see if we'll share any faves!

"Go Your Own Way" is the song that Fleetwood Mac definitely did better than the Glee Cast, though. There's something about their recording that pierces my heart.

They're more of a singles act for me so I wouldn't rush them personally.

"Anywhere" deserves to be a huge global smash. It feels like it's a season late (sounds like an epic summer smash to me) but hopefully the GP gives it a warm embrace anyway.

I personally love "Make Me..." but you are right, it was too tame for the lead, it would have been a great 2nd single (especially with a great performance at the VMA's).

Personally, I like "Roulette" but I prefer "Bigger Than Me" heavily :D - "Hey Hey Hey" is such a nonsense decision. It will be even a bigger flop than "Swish Swish".

-------

Love your #1! - Have you already voted in Dua Lipa's Album Survivor? That track has made it to the final!
So nice to see those random Sparks entries; I think that the big and happy news made you listen to her again.
"Call It Waht You Want" <3 - Perhaps the best song on an enjoyable but uneventful album.

Hmm...I haven't heard "Bigger Than Me" in a while. I'll have to revisit it to see why you appreciate it so much.

Not yet! I have to get around to it.

Ouch! Another rough review. I think it'll be released to streaming services tomorrow, so I'll see if it's really that sub-par.

JSparksFan wrote:"Anywhere" deserves to be a huge global smash. It feels like it's a season late (sounds like an epic summer smash to me) but hopefully the GP gives it a warm embrace anyway.
It does have that summer anthem vibe about the track, but i'm just so happy its giving Rita Ora so much success. The public seem to have taken the song to their charts, its #1 on iTunes and slowly but surely increasing on Spotify. It will be gutting though for this sublime slice of fizzy pop to stall at #2 in the UK charts. :x

...and so onto today's chart. I read your subtitle "caught in a trap" and i thought of Suspicious minds by Elvis.

I'm not really into Mika, don't even think i've ever heard Rain. I used to find his singing really irritating when he started out.

Songs i like in your chart today:

02.(RE) Taylor Swift - You Belong with Me
03.(NE) Missy Elliott - Work It (Highest Debut)
05.(NE) Axwell /\ Ingrosso - More Than You Know
11.(RE) Adele - Hello
12.(06) Taylor Swift - Call It What You Want (Biggest Free Faller)
13.(RE) Lady Gaga - Dance in the Dark
15.(RE) Alice Murton - No Roots
16.(RE) Céline Dion - Encore un soir
17.(NE) Michael Bublé - Home
19.(RE) The Beatles - Yellow Submarine
20.(RE) Florence + the Machine - Shake It Out

Has Work it really never been in your chart before now? That's one of Missy Elliott's most iconic singles. Better late than never.

06.(RE) Rihanna - Work (feat. Drake)
07.(RE) Iggy Azalea - Work
08.(RE) Fifth Harmony - Work from Home

LOL at the Work treble. Was that planned or a pure co-incidence? :P

09.(NE) Luis Fonsi - Échame la Culpa (feat. Demi Lovato)

It's gonna be very interesting to see how successful this track becomes coming off the back of Despacito which is surely the biggest worldwide hit of 2017? No pressure Luis...

Oh, have you started to listen to "Reputation"? - It's not a bad album but I expected something bigger, more authentic, more experimental. It doesn't even sound that modern, tbh.

"Bigger Than Me" didn't appear on your latest charts. Have you forgotten to check it out or do you just not like it at all?
