Glad you like them! I think you're responsible for both the Passenger and Guetta/Sia tracks.

Hello Akini :D

01.(RE) Clean Bandit - Solo (feat. Demi Lovato) (Best Comeback)

Clean Bandit have done it again, they've become pioneers of perfect pop/dance music and i love these guys. Solo is the makings of a summer anthem and i love the music video. There's a strong possibility that we will be sharing #1s tonight.

02.(RE) Janet Jackson - Together Again

Aww i will always adore this song. Easily my favourite Janet single and i believe is her most successful selling in the UK which is truly deserved. I never realised until a few years later that this song was about the death of one of Janet's closest friends. I think i heard that on MTV or something. :(

03.(NE) George Ezra - Shotgun (Highest Debut)

Ohh wow, that JakeP top 2 influence going on. Currently #2 in my chart and looking set to hold up impressively once again tonight. George really is on a roll right now and i'm so happy he's getting all this success especially considering he was getting overshadowed by Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith initially.

14.(NE) Years & Years - If You're Over Me

I will admit this wasn't the type of song i expected to hear following Sanctify but it's got such a cute charm about the song, and i much prefer this music video too. Curious to see the next instalment of this music video story they'e got going on.

15.(NE) Troye Sivan - Bloom

Aww nice to see Bloom making an appearance too. It's not My, my, my but i still loved this from the first play. It's definitely got an 80s influence in the production but i actually think it makes the song sound more atmospheric.

Best of the rest:

04.(RE) Janet Jackson - I Get Lonely
07.(RE) Janet Jackson - All for You
09.(RE) Beyoncé - Crazy in Love (feat. Jay-Z)

Yeah, I have your chart to thank for encouraging me to give the song a second spin. I thought it was just 'good' on the first play, but I'm absolutely loving it now! So relatable, so catchy, so fun!

Yeah, the song is dedicated to a friend she lost to AIDS.

Yeah, the song is definitely a step up from "Budapest".

Yeah, I agree with everything you have to say here, and I suspect we're looking forward to the same highlight in the next installment!

Yeah, both Olly and Troye failed to follow-up their lead singles with equally fantastic releases, but "Bloom" is growing on me...slowly.

"Crazy in Love" is actually back thanks to the 00s female singles countdown cheapthrills is hosting. I know we laud the 90s as the pinnacle of music and musicianship on this site, but the 00s is my favourite decade of music, and his countdown had me revisiting some of that decade's finest.

• I'm a day late here, but I had to celebrate the awesome surprise of "Solo" reaching No. 1 :D I honestly thought it would be more polarizing with all those "whoop whoop whoop"s/repetitive word distortions in the chorus, but now it's topped your chart, Jake's, Tansike's, and mine (among others, I imagine). Definitely one of their most infectious offerings yet for me.
• I'm just realizing that I misconstrued your praise for the "If You're Over Me" video in my thread as approval for the song itself, but it looks like both it and "Bloom" are just starting to sorta-kinda-slightly click with you now? I don't get how anyone could resist "If You're Over Me"s poptastic charms. I understand how, lyrically, it's a fairly basic/straightforward breakup bop from a group whose material has typically had more nuance and depth to it...but once it starts playing, the catchiness just consuuumes me <3 Since they served up "Sanctify" first, they're clearly not going full-on-bubblegum with Palo Santo, but I'm 1000% OK with it including a few poppy indulgences like this. Regarding "Bloom," I do think my initial impression of it was aided by its trippy, tantalizing lyric video.
• Loving all the Janet <3 Does the fact that "I Want You" is popping up now mean it's been growing on you? Granted, "Make Me" is here too, so maybe it's just the "Video Intermission" effect?

Yet another chart that's in a class of its own, Akini! :D

Yeah, I think "Rockabye" is the only Clean Bandit song that's done more for me than this one. It's even surpassed "Symphony" already.

Actually, according to the UKMixPARADE, it's just us loving it!

Yeah, seeing them on Jake's chart prompted a revisit, though I think "If You're Over Me" will definitely have more staying power here than "Bloom". I think I like Olly/Years & Years more than Troye in general, but I'm always down to support LGBT+ musicians, so I'll certainly give their upcoming LPs a listen.

Hmm...I think I really enjoyed the explosion of "Meteorite" and the melodrama and intensity of "Sanctify". I get that artists need to mix up their sound because we'd all get sick of hearing them do the same thing, but "If You're Over Me" felt like they eased up on the adventurous pedal and decided to slam on the 'basic' pedal. I'm listening to it now, and the melody is kinda pretty, but I'm not really moved by the lyrics...and now "Sanctify" is starting and it hooks you immediately! "My My My!" was fun, and "Bloom" is pretty tame, so it's a similar story with Troye.

Definitely video intermission effect. "Can't B Good" has grown on me quite a bit, though, and I can definitely confirm that I axed it prematurely...as I did "Discipline". :(

Janelle's old school tracks dominating. Did Dirty Computer inspire you to check out her old music?

And it always makes me happy when someone posts a Bonnie Raitt song.

This top 20 is excellent :)

Yep! I'm still fairly new to Janelle Monáe's discography, but instead of exploring it chronologically, I'm content for the time being to just jump around her catalogue randomly discovering the brilliance hidden throughout.

Glad you like the chart! :D

I actually had an awesome karaoke session with co-workers last week, but "You Can't Hurry Love" wasn't one of the songs I sang. I think it's a tough song, with the key changes after each chorus.

I actually had an awesome karaoke session with co-workers last week, but "You Can't Hurry Love" wasn't one of the songs I sang. I think it's a tough song, with the key changes after each chorus.
What did you sing? :)

Kylie's really been having a great year for me! "Raining Glitter" and "Live a Little" are two of her career-finest songs.
