Hello from this other thread,JakeP wrote:Hello...it's me Random lyric time but i'd just mentioned Adele in my chart thread.
What a difference five years makes! I remember viewing her initially as a third-rate MC wannabe who was lucky enough to score a hit with a song my original fave wrote. Now here we are, in 2018, and I'm low-key fanboying over not one, but two, of her releases this year!JakeP wrote:01.(NE) Ariana Grande - God Is a Woman (Hot Shot Debut)
I am so delighted that God is a woman has truly delivered, both the song and the stunning visuals from the music video. Ariana and her team are really delivering the goods with this era so far.
And that's one of the best Scorpion tracks!JakeP wrote:04.(RE) Mariah Carey - Emotions
So i decided to listen to Drake's track Emotionless seeing as it entered the UK charts last Friday. I didn't realise it sampled Mariah and at first it was a pleasant surprised...but as the track went on, i just felt like the song was dragging on and on and on and didn't seem to be heading towards any big climax. The song ended and it left nothing to the imagination. It just made me appreciate the original version even more.
Eh, I still think "No Tears Left to Cry" is average, and "The Light Is Coming" is only a smidgen better.JakeP wrote:08.(RE) Ariana Grande - The Light Is Coming (feat. Nicki Minaj)
It still makes me wonder what could've been had this taken off on Spotify and become a chart hit. Would they have released God is a woman yesterday or waited a bit longer? I'm now happy with how things have played out. <3 I still like The light is coming but admittedly its faded somewhat on me over the last couple of weeks, whilst No tears left to cry remains an absolute joy.
I totally agree!SummerPeur wrote:Ariana crowning the top with God Is A Woman . Fantastic output from her! While it's not her typical, it's still great.
I love the shady chart lyric.SummerPeur wrote:Love the more unknown Hoxton Heroes from GA.
The good sis ThomyX introduced me to it five years ago. It's actually topped my chart on two occasions.SummerPeur wrote: Is this On The Up, as in the unreleased track from Body Language?!!?! Akini what made you discover this gem!!!

Mika's a big contender for my favourite male artist of all-time title, so there are quite a few songs I love from him. "Relax" would have to be in the top 5, though.Tansike wrote:Some brilliant tunes on your latest Top20. "Relax" remains my favorite Mika song, still sooo good.
Correct. That's still the case actually.Tansike wrote:"God Is A Woman" is another strong single from her, so i'm glad she's in your Top10. If i remember correctly you weren't the biggest fan of "No Tears", or am i wrong?
The song is amazing, and the album is strong, in my opinion.Tansike wrote:Love to see some appearances for Years & Years - "Palo Santo" (the song) is amazing <3
Yep! Thanks for encouraging me to check it out.Tansike wrote:<3
Yeah, I feel like I need to give "Crystallize" a bit of a break, so I'm now leaning on "Elements" as my go-to study instrumental companion.Tansike wrote:<3 <3 <3JSparksFan wrote:Sunday's Top 20 (July 15th)

This just caught me by surprise as i didn't remember seeing this on your charts back when you got into her, so i searched in your topic about "Elements" and i had no idea it peaked at #2 recently. This is truly amazing, as i still think this is one of her finest moments and its video remains my favorite from her.
Oh, I hope it grows on you, too. It was pretty immediate for me.Spartan wrote:I’m hoping the new ID song grows on me, I wasn’t too impressed at first listen tbh. Great to see Believe Again honoured on your charts, Delta doesn’t get enough love on here.
Same here!Spartan wrote:Yes for all the ABBA. Can’t wait to see the new film soon.
Yeah, I think The Album is their best record at that chronological point in their career. Glad you like my avi!Benny wrote:So many great tracks from 'The Album'!
