Hello, and welcome to Adam's Top 100 songs of the year 2010!

In the above poll are 12 contenders for my No.1 spot - I guarantee that one of them IS the chart topper, but can also tell you that as usual, not all of these songs have even charted in the top 100 - it's up to you to decide which is which and pick the song you think is my favourite of the year - let me know what you've chosen too so I can see who is right and wrong!

I was split between Alexandra, Bruno, The Saturdays and Lady GaGa/Beyoncé. (the first 3 more so)

I will vote for The Saturdays though.

I think that Estelle will miss your top 100 though.

I went for Mochelle and co., but most of those songs are decent so you definitely won't have a bad #1.

I think it's between Estelle/Alexandra/Kate Nash.

Chosen Kate Nash because you did talk about her a lot when I saw you earlier on in the year.

Even though I know you like Alexandra & The Saturdays, I'm gonna go with Bruno Mars, just to be different.
Let's embrace the point of no return.

Right, let's get this kicked off!

100. 3OH!3 feat Ke$ha – My First Kiss
Image
Kicking things off a song I never really got to start with - sounds okay on a radio - sounds IMMENSE in a club. A real one to jump up and down and go a bit mental to, love the 'oooh-oooh' parts that make up the chorus. No real need for Ke$ha but a top single nonetheless.

99. Joe McElderry- Someone Wake Me Up
Image
A very recent single, in fact it's not even out yet! Geordie Joe's third single, sadly looking very likely to be a massive flop despite being an epic built up pop number of 'Love Story' proportions. Deserves to do a lot better, very catchy!

98. Enrique Iglesias ft. Nicole Sherzinger - Heartbeat
Image
Not usually blown away or even that enamoured with Enrique's slower or midtempo numbers, but this is a really great atmospheric number. I remember comparing it before to a Snow Patrol song, out of his comfort zone but with beautiful, delicate vocals from both.

97. Athlete – The Getaway
Image
Having always liked Athlete I have watched them go through good and bad eras - and this is a good one. One great lead single and two beautiful, epic ballads, the second release of those being this. An unmistakable voice, a beautiful melody and a really powerful single.

96. Everything Everything – MY KZ, YR BF
Image
Discovered this by accident at Glastonbury when trying to find where my friends were seeking shade. They were in a tent with this lot playing this very quirky, unique, Vampire Weekend style number. This was their first song, really loved it, but nothing else in the set came close!

95. Alexandra Burke feat Laza Morgan - Start Without You
Image
Some might be surprised to see us losing one of the four Alexandra singles within the very first segment but truth be told, my mouth was agog at how bad I thought this was when I first heard the clip, and then again for the full song. It has grown on me and I'm a fan now, but it's a bit cheesy, and is easily her weakest single.

94. The Script – For The First Time
Image
Another very solid single from the Script. At first it did seem a bit dull, but as with most of their singles, become a longstay radio favourite and racked them up loads of single and album sales. Singalong stadium anthem at it's finest.

93. Paloma Faith – Smoke & Mirrors
Image
Yet another single from a fantastic debut album, indeed probably one of the best songs on it. A bit old to me now but definitely a favourite from the moment I picked up the record. Great live at Glastonbury, great chorus, great vocals, shifted a few albums, job done.

92. Biffy Clyro – God & Satan
Image
Beautiful, thought provoking ballad from one of my favourite discoveries (ie, I now know them properly) of 2010. A very very simple song, a simply melody, but it absolutely works because of the beauty in the simplicity. Stunning vocal, great job.

91. Train – Hey Soul Sister
Image
This totally passed me by for about the first two months of it being massive everywhere, even here. When I did get to know it, I sort of liked it. Now it's really grown on me and is officially 'my cup of tea'. As with the Script, exceptionally singalong, catchy and credible, one of the years finest made-for-radio numbers.

I just discovered "Someone Wake Me Up" the other day and I've been playing it non-stop since! absolutely loooove it! :D

really great to see "Heartbeat" make your list too, it's definitely one of my most favorite songs of 2010.

I was obsessed with 'Start Without You' for a good two weeks, didn't get the hate at all

'My First Kiss', 'For The First Time' and 'Hey, Soul Sister' are all top picks.

These three are good. I'm glad we got that horrific Alexandra Burke single out of the way early on.
